Chapter 3
"Be careful next time," he smirked. I blinked, my mouth hanging open. My body was tilted towards the floor but I was looking up at Tyler, his face so close to mine. He helped me. He actually stopped me from falling.
"Uh..." I managed to say as he helped me upright. I untangled myself from my bag but I felt giddy and weird and I didn't know why.
"Why didn't you let me fall on the floor?!" I blurted suddenly, after I picked up all my books again, and composed myself together.
"Why would I let you do that?" he asked, cocking his head to the side, amused. He wasn't smirking. What the hell was happening today?
"Because you're you," I frowned, looking at the floor and finding the key Matt had thrown across the cafeteria. I picked it up and looked around me. People were looking at us and I furrowed my eyebrows not understanding what was so interesting about me falling over someone's shoe. People do it all the time.
"A thank you would have been nice," he chuckled before putting his hands in his pockets and walking away. I blinked, watching him retreat away, before gaining back my composure and walking to class.
"Catch!" I threw Matt's key over to him, as I strolled into the Chemistry lab and sat down on the stool next to him.
"You know, you could've just gave it to me," he raised his eyebrow.
"Well you could've not thrown it across the cafeteria," I muttered back, getting a chuckle out of him.
I looked around the lab for people I knew. Lexie and Ashley were sitting together and Jason was sitting next to Tyler. It would still take me a while to get used to them being friends. He nodded his head sending me a wave when he realised I was looking at him and I nearly fell off my stool when I realised I was staring.
Matt's arms wrapped around me, steadying me. "Careful."
Be careful next time
Tyler's words were still ringing through my head and I turned my head to the front, trying to listen to Mr. Riddel droning on and on about the importance of Chemistry. How could I concentrate when his voice was as boring as an old man? Well he was an old man...

"Why are you frowning?" Tyler asked, looking at me from the rearview mirror of Jason's car.
"Why does he have to come?" I completely ignored him, frowning even more. I swear, if I frowned anymore my face would stay like that forever.
I was stuck in a car with Jason, Tyler and Matt. We were all going shopping and I was going to ride with Lexie and Ashley but Jason made me go in his car with him because he really needed to talk to me about something. But I didn't know Tyler was invited.
Luckily, for me, Tyler was sitting at the front next to Jason, so I didn't have to see his face but that meant I was sitting next to Matt and my tummy was swirling again for some unknown reason.
"Jason!" I wailed, kicking the seat in front of me to get his attention. He didn't reply and no-one else said a word so I folded my arms against my chest and furrowed my eyebrows. "Fine. I won't bother talking to you."
"Just tell her who you like already!" Matt exclaimed looking at Jason.
"Yeah, I mean she looks pretty pissed right now," Tyler added and I didn't even bother replying back to either of them. I came in this car for nothing, absolutely nothing. Ashley and Lexie were probably having the girliest and most awesome conversation and I was stuck in a car with complete morons who wouldn't even tell me what the hell they were going on about.
