Natalie's POV

"Perfect," I whisper to myself. I turn to look at Jay as he walks towards my collection of old albums and movies.

"Fascinating. I never pictured you as a movie fanatic," Jay says as he grabs various movies. "Mind if I borrow some?"

"Knock yourself out." I stumble onto my bed, sighing deeply. Jay walks towards me and plops himself beside me. "You've gotta be kidding me."

Just as I was about to get up, feeling uncomfortable, Jay grabs my wrist and says "I know how you feel. I got out of a relationship a week ago." I snicker, only to realize he was actually being serious.

"I didn't know you were in a relationship." I look at him with a look of confusion. He turned away and took a deep breath.

"We wanted to keep it a secret so the fans wouldn't act so crazy. It doesn't matter now anyways, we're done. I came out hoping to get drunk and bring a girl home to forget about her, and then I saw you." He looks at me with his big blue eyes, looking for mine.

I laugh. "Oh please, you can't just suddenly turn cheesy and expect me to fall for you. Don't get me wrong, you're very attractive, but I'm not going to fall for that crap anymore."

"I'm not playing around! Natalie, please. All I'm asking for is to be friends, and maybe later you'll want something more." I scoff and get up.

"Jay, please. You actually think I'm going to fall for that line? I don't care if we're friends or not but I won't want something more. Ever." After I said that, I immediately regret it. I see the hurt in Jays eyes as he gets up, walks towards the door and opens it.

"Jay... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-" But he cut me off. He looks at me straight in the eyes, walks towards me, and kisses me on the cheek.

"I understand, Natalie. Friends, right?"

I stand there in shock. "Yeah...friends," I spit out quickly. He smiles and grabs my hand and leads me out the door as a smell of syrup hits me. I run downstairs to find a tall stack of pancakes on the counter.

"Look who decided to show up," Tom said in a mocking tone. I stick my tongue out at him and grab  three pancakes.

"Woah slow down, we need to eat too," Max snickers. Ignoring his comment, I grab strawberries out of the fridge and wash them. While cutting them up, I notice Jay leaning against the wall watching me. I quickly turn away and focus on the strawberries. I look up again to see Jay standing closer, with a plate of pancakes in his hands.

"Strawberry please." He smiles at me and gives me a wink. "He must think he's soo smooth." I hand him a strawberry and he sits down at the table with the others.

"You like him don't you?" I jump in shock and turn around to see Tiffany giving me a silly grin. I roll my eyes at her.

"No way. He's a total jerk. You can tell by the way he acts."

"He likes you too," Tiffany sings.

"Thanks, but no thanks. I just got out of a relationship and I'm not looking for another one anytime soon." Tiffany chuckles.

"Yeah, sure." She waves a finger at me and then towards Jay and nods her head. Then she grabs a strawberry.

"Hey!" I groan in frustration.

"Hey," she waves back at me and winks. Watching the boys laugh along with Tiffany, Jay grabs a quick glance at me, hoping I wouldn't notice. I pout and grab more strawberries to cut. This is a good day for love to die.
