Max's POV
I watch as Tom threw Natalie into the pool. I laugh along with Tom, and I look towards the others who were shocked. "What happened to them?" I wonder. Then I look back but I don't see Natalie. I look around, trying to find her. Then she pops out from under the water gasping, her eyes wide, and falls back in.
"SHE'S DROWNING!" I hear Jay yell, running back and forth, not knowing what to do.
"MAX DO SOMETHING!" Tiffany yells from the other side of the pool. Natalie pops up and back under in a second. I quickly dive under the water and try to grab her arm, Natalie frantically waving her arms and her legs, trying to push herself up for air. I grab her and put my arm around her waist, pulling both of us above the water. She gasps, choking. I drag her to the side of the pool, Nathan and Seev helping her up. Jay puts a towel around her as Natalie shakes vigourously. Tears roll out of her eyes and I see Tom running towards her.
"Holy shit Natalie! Are you okay? Why didn't you swim!?" Tiffany walks up towards Tom and slaps him on the arm.
"You idiot! Nat doesn't know how to swim!" Tiffany yells, frustrated.
"Crap. I didn't know Nat, I'm-"
"It's ok. Really." Natalie says, putting on a smile. She looks down at her feet.
"It was so not fine Natalie," Tiffany says. "You almost drowned! This is why you need to tell people-"
"But I didn't drown," Natalie says, embarassed. "Just leave it. They know now." Natalie walks inside the house, Jay following. Nathan's phone rings and he heads inside too, answering. Tiffany hands me a towel and I give her an appreciative look, but she's lost in her own thoughts. I see Tom walking inside with Seev, feeling guilty.
"That was insane," I say to myself.
Nathan's POV
After Natalie and Jay walks into the house, my phone rings. I look at the caller: Matthew. I answer as I walk into the living room.
"What's up?" I speak into the phone.
"Dude! Where are you man? Did you get my texts?"
"Oh crap. Yeah I got like one text. I'm at my friend's house. Something happened and I sorta lost track of time. Why?"
"Did you manage to check out the address I sent you? I'm at the front right now."
"Uh no, not yet. I totally forgot about it." I think back to the address Matt sent me last night. He said it was his ex's house and that he wanted to see if she was broken hearted. Matt was a jerk that way. He always left the ladies broken, but he wanted to see how broken.
"Then why the hell is your car here? Is there something I should know?" I stare at the wall, confused.
"What are you talking about man?" But before he could answer, I remember Tiffany told us that Natalie just went through a bad break up. "Holy shit. Matt, is your ex Natalie??"
"Yeah dude! Don't tell me you're hooking up with her." I look out the window to see Matt in his car, anger plastered all over his face. I put my hand on my forehead.
"Shit," I say under my breath. "No, I'm not hooking up with her, but Matt, she's totally torn."
"Sweet. So you talked to her already?" I see Siva, Max, Tom and Tiffany walk in and they sit down on the couch. "Should I tell them?"
"Uh yeah, sorta. Just wait there, I'll meet you," I say and as I hang up, Jay and Natalie walk in, Jay's arm around Natalie's waist.
"Where you going mate?" Jay asks me. I look to him and then to Natalie, afraid she'll think I'm a traitor. Natalie looks at me with her big, blue eyes, eyes that you could never betray. I shake my head and look out the window.
"Uh, nowhere, just to meet a friend. I'll be right back." I say. But before I leave, Tiffany gets up and looks out the window. "Shit. Tiffany, don't." I pray in my head.
"Oh. My. God. Natalie, Matthew is outside right now. What the hell is he doing here? He's probably begging for you to take him back. I'm gonna go talk some sense into that guy." I look at Natalie and her hands are in a fist, her palms turning white. Jay holds her tighter than ever, protecting her as if she was his own.
"Matthew? As in Matt? Nate, isn't that your best friend?" Tom says. Natalie's eyes go wide and she looks to me, her eyes beginning to form tears. Jay does the same, but with anger all over his face. The others look at each other, then back to me, searching for an answer.
"Yeah, he's my friend. But Natalie I swear I didn't know that it was him! He just called me and I didn't put the pieces together. I'm sorry! I was just going to tell him to leave but-"
"Save it." Tiffany interrupts. "Just go and talk to him." I look towards Natalie, but she looks away. I look down, ashamed.
"Yeah, I guess I'll go talk to him," I say. I leave the room but I hear footsteps behind me. I turn around to see Natalie, Jay right behind her. I look at her, confused, hoping for her forgiveness.
"Let me come with you," she says.
