The gentle sways of the waves below rocked the entire ship back and forth. At first, creating a relaxing motion, but soon after, a sickening sensation. You hadn't experienced much morning sickness before your departure. Still, the more time you spent at sea made you sincerely appreciate the stability of solid ground.

You were currently hunched over the ship's railing, expelling last night's dinner. Hopefully, now that your stomach was empty, perhaps you'd be able to relax a little more before the day had begun. The crew and Lukas, of course, all insisted that you remain in your cabin for the duration of the trip, mostly so you'd stay out of the way, but also because they were made aware of your condition. Although you appreciated their concerns, you refused to lay around doing nothing and insisted on helping.

After doing your best to clean yourself up, you made your way down to the galley and were met with a nearly empty cabin save for two young men. They were twins, Seamus and Dylan, and some of Captain Allistor's younger brothers. Bushy brows and verdant green eyes seemed to be predominant hereditary traits in their family.

Dylan, the younger twin, set up the few tables there were while Seamus, the elder twin, had his hands full making breakfast for the entire ship. Dylan had pulled a chair out for you upon seeing you hobble your way down the steps and gestured for you to sit at the table. You stumbled over and carefully sat down, nodding at him as he pushed in your seat and left to finish setting up.

"Are you feeling alright, miss (y/n)?" asked Dylan. Having only a small grasp of their language, you struggled to keep up with conversations around the ship, but this quickly became a familiar phrase.

Your stomach was still churning, but after having put up with well over a week of this morning routine, you knew it would settle soon enough. So long as you didn't do anything to provoke it.

Your first morning aboard the ship had started off similar to today, a sudden rush of nausea shortly followed by harsh vomiting. Lukas had woken up hours beforehand, so he wasn't there to check on you the first time it happened. Instead, the twin brothers just so happened to be passing by when they saw you lurched over the railing, shivering profusely and trying to steady yourself. The days that followed, you'd hardly be seen without one of them doting on you when Lukas wasn't around. It was annoying how fragile and delicate you were treated by literally everyone. Still, at the same time, it couldn't be helped. Today was slightly different as you weren't accompanied by either of the twins, not that you minded.

"Yes," you replied with a nod, "a little better. Sorry to...worry you..." Your limited English was a hindrance at first, but you managed to pick up quite a bit during the short time aboard the ship. Not enough to have a full conversation with someone, but enough to somewhat understand and respond in short choppy phrases.

"We'll be docking tonight so you won't have to worry about losing your dinner anymore," teased the older twin. Seamus had temporarily stopped his cooking and brought over a basket of vegetables and a knife to keep you busy. There was no translation necessary to get the point across that you wanted to help out, even if it was something as small as helping prepare a nearly finished meal. Dylan followed behind him and placed a glass of water next to you. You looked at the two boys and gave a smile followed by a "Thank you," and got to work.

The two carried on, as usual, chatting about as if you weren't there, but sometimes trying to include you in their conversations. You would respond when you could, but in the end, you always found yourself tuning out the chatter and getting lost in your thoughts while mindlessly chopping away.

The dread of dropping everything and starting a new life still lingered in your head. And now, with yours and Lukas's, as well as your future child's new home fast approaching, those thoughts and worries began to swirl in your head fervently the closer to land you approached. While you did trust Lukas that he and you would find a way to make things work, what made you scared the most was how you were going to do it.
