Titania's pov
I watch as the brown haired one comes closer. I don't know how I should act. Should I run? Should I stay? Should I attack?
The brown haired human comes to a stop on the tree next to me. and starts to speak.
"Hello, I'm Hanji" she waves and points to herself. I don't understand. What is she saying? I concentrate, what does that mean? She pointed to herself and says the word 'hanji' again. oh now I get it that is her specific. I would try to say her name but I have never tried and I don't want to screech, lest more titans appear. But should I even show that I understand?
"do you have a name?" she asks. I scrunch my face up. Name? what is that?
"A name. My name" she points to herself "is Hanji" oh this 'name' means her specific. So if I could talk I would say 'my name is Titania'. Should I nod or shake my head? I look at Hanji more closely and slowly nod.
"Oh my kami. Oh my kami. No fricking way! I didn't think she'd respond" Hanji started shouting. I had no idea what she was saying. I slowly walked towards her, wanting to observe her closer but not frighten. This was my first proper contact with humans and it was very exciting. The branch she is on is in level with my neck, so she was up to my nose.
"Hanji that's close enough, step back!" the black haired one says, making my head turn to the other two.
"But this is so fascinating, she responded! It's amazing she says she has a name" Hanji shouted.
"We have been called back anyway. We can find her and bring her in next exposition" the blonde said.
"aww" Hanji exclaimed. She turns to me.
" Bye" she waves her hand back and forth before jumping away. I look at my hand and bring it up. Hanji looks back at me and I slowly wave my hand.
"oh my kami, guys did you see that?! It's amazing! Why are you taking me from her?! Wahhh. How can you be so cruel?" she shouts, water streaming down her face fast as she swings away. Soon they are out of sight. I stand there amazed at what just happened. I talked to a human. Maybe not literally but it was exciting none the less. I feel weird now. Empty. I never felt this before.
I sit down and start to think a bit. Maybe it's because I never had someone to be with. I don't like this feeling. I could stop this feeling. I now have a decision. I can either go to home tree and continue on like normal wondering and eating titans or follow the humans. But I need to think logically.
So what is the good of staying here? I can do what I like. No one to bother me. I can do my normal thing. I know that whatever happens I can handle it. But I'll have this emptiness. Or I could follow them. Not knowing what can happen. Be vulnerable. But be in-empty, Learn more things. . .
I ponder for a while over the question and most of the information points to staying but I feel an urge to follow them. Maybe this is something that doesn't follow logic. Logic or gut? They have both helped me survive my life in the forest but if I follow them I won't be in the forest. They all ways head back to that wall. It looks like a cage.
So would I want to be stuck in that cage if I left? No. But will I do it anyway? . . . Yes.
I stand up, my decision made. I'm going to follow them. Even if it has been a few hours, I can still smell their scent. I start walking. I don't want to run and if they go to the cage then I don't need to because that isn't going to move anytime soon.
I keep to the trail and after a bit of walking I find myself in open lands. I don't see them and by now the wind has carried their scent away. But I look around again. They would be heading to the cage so, I look for the cage and spot it in the distance. I can just see a group of moving objects right at the entrance and see them ride in. So I missed them.
That doesn't matter I made up my mind and I won't change it. I'm going after them. And with that I start my long and slow journey. I walk at a slow and steady pace, battling and eating titans on the way. It slowly turns to night. I keep walking, at a slower pace though, this form can't work at night. Even with the heavy drowsy feeling I push on.
I'm three quarters way there, still going at my steady pace. It's morning by now. Then the most unsuspected thing happen. A strike of lightning hits the ground and a sixty meter titan appears. No way. Another one like me? But the weird thing is, it's pulling its foot back as if it's . . . going to kick the wall down. No, that is where the humans are.
If he kicks the wall down they are stuck in their cage as titans come in. He swings his foot and creates a loud sound as he blows the door down. After he disappears. The titans start swarming in. I have to help but how. Even I can't take to many titans on in this form, I've only eaten enough titans to defend myself from one or two titans and to keep walking.
I need to eat more if I wish to grow into my stronger forms or take down that many at once. The loud noise has started to bring more titans out of the woods. I have to get in there. I start a fast pace jog hoping that I will have enough energy to get there and eat a couple before I run out. As I'm running another bang is heard, that doesn't sound good. After a bit I reached the walls and head in.
It was a massacre. Titans everywhere with more coming in. the humans scream as they try and run away. I need to help but first I need to eat. I head to the closest titan that is about to pounce on a human. I lunge for its neck and bring him down. The other titans are too busy eating to notice me. I finish eating, feeling powerful. But by now there are too many titans in and I can't block it or get out.
It looks like the humans are getting on something that is travelling on the river through the wall. A lot of people are still left behind. I use the newly gained energy to grow. I feel my body heat up and expand, steam surrounds me. When the steam disappears I'm now in my twenty meter form. Taller than any titan here. But I need to eat a bit more to maintain this form and attack titans.
I find a titan that is not near a large group and is distracted. I take it down swiftly and easily. This goes on for a while. I find titans kill or eat them then move on. But at some point there were too many so I had to turn and flee. I turn and run into the second wall that was broken I keep running once I get through. This part was greener and more open space.
I run until I see a forest. I start heading in that direction. I get there after a while, the sun is starting to go down. I'm exhausted. I sit down and take a breath. I haven't felt this tired in ages, normally I'm good at saving energy. God I'm about to fall asleep and there are no titans to eat. But by the time I wake up they would have made it to the forest.
Meaning I have to shift and I will feel a bit less tired but be defenceless or I can fall asleep and be defenceless. I look up at the trees. If I can climb high enough then I can keep out of reach from titans. With the last bit of my energy I climb the giant trees and lay across multiple thick branches for support. I close my eyes and enter darkness. I don't dream.
I open my eyes, what feels like a second later, but the risen sun proves me wrong. It looks like I have shrunk back to my fifteen meter form. I look down to see multiple titans underneath me. Some are trying to climb but before they can learn I jump off landing on two. I stomp on their necks before battling the others. I kill all of them except for one, eating the last. I think for a minute about the situation. I can't find Hanji again she could be anywhere in the other walls, she could be dead for all I know.
But I can't go back to my forest. There are too many titans. So I guess that means I have to stay here. I'll probably do the same things as I normally do, except now I'm stuck in the walls.
Yay . . .
