Chapter 6

3 years later

Titania's pov

Over the past few years Hanji, Levi and Erwin visited me every week or so. They taught me how to read, write and speak (kind of), as well as what happens in the cage, or walls. They talked about the scouting, guarding and military police regiment, well mostly bad mouthed them but still I learnt a lot. It was very fun to learn about new things.

While I learnt how to speak I told them my name. I haven't told them I'm human and to be completely honest sometimes I forget I am. I still haven't changed back into my human form in six years now, but I don't mind because this form is way better than those fragile human ones.

Between the lessons of writing, reading and speaking they would conduct experiments on me, To see if I had pain, how fast my regeneration is, where my scales can cover. Their swords couldn't break through the black scales on my legs though. Sometimes they would make small or big cuts, or take a finger but I didn't really care cause I am use to the pain by now.

I am going to meet Hanji and her friends later on in the day because right now she is on an exposition at a different location but she promised on the way back she'll stop by. I don't really have anything to do right now so I walk from my big forest and head to the meeting point. it's a calm and peaceful walk besides the one or two titans that cross my path.

The meeting point is an open place with a small cluster of trees that hide me from the view of the wall, so they don't shoot their cannons at me. I sit at the bottom of the tree and watch the wall. They can't see me because of the trees shade. My vision in this form is way beyond humans, as well as my other senses, allowing me to see the people on the wall.

Normally I laugh at some of the stuff the humans do, but today they aren't the usual groups I see. They're act different and look different, younger.

Oh it must be the trainees. Hanji told me they would be graduating soon and hoped for more recruits to the scouts. She said they would go on the walls to try out guarding a bit before they pick their regiment. I watch them, they were way more interesting than the normal guards, that don't do much.

All of a sudden a flash of lightening rushes down and hits the ground with a large 'CRACK'!

Before the steam clears I'm already off the ground and running, giving extra energy to my legs to reach him before he strikes, but I know that I'm too far away.

And just like before he pulls his leg back with a massive and powerful swing he slams it into the door. I can already see multiple titans coming out of the forest.

The impact of the foot hitting the door creates a gust of wind that goes all the way back to me. I take a deep breath of the passing wind. I concentrate on a certain smell, the smell of the monster in front of me. It was a smell much like my own but different. It smelt like a human and titan, but also the persons own unique scent.

I'm three quarters of the way when the colossal titans form disappears. I see a little figure on the ground run into the walls. But by the time I reach the gates, he's already slipped into the panicking crowd.

I look around trying to find out how I can help, maybe something to block the door.

The only thing big enough would be the big metal ball over on one of the many buildings. But I won't be able to lift it, I don't have enough energy. I used most of it to get here, meaning I'm one of the first here.

By the time the first one arrives it would have dozens of titans behind it, meaning I won't be able to gather energy without being attacked.

Shit.

I have to decide. Stay and fight for humanity, risk being overpowered and devoured, trapped and killed or discovered. Or run right now, with the little energy left run past them and let them swarm the humans, once again.

I only have a couple seconds now.

Risk it all or run away and leave the humans to die.

I hear the panicking shrieks of the humans, the pounding steps of the titans, the yells of the soldiers, the horrifying squeals of the monsters.

I make my decision.

I turn to the gates, looking at the oncoming horde of titans. I know my decision is for the best as I start to run at the gates.
