The first round

I took a deep breath to steady my nerves. I usually didn't have stage fright, but let's be real here, I was a nervous wreck. If I got out on the first round of the competition, I would feel like an idiot. I mean, there are only two rounds but still.
"Scoot." Rachel strutted up and pushed me over. Her minions followed her lead and they walked over to the stage.
"You smell like chicken butt." Allison muttered and I smiled. It wasn't the best comeback but hey, it's not like I had anything. Rachel just scoffed and walked on stage for her song. They were going to preform a cover of Sexy And I Know It. Figures. We decided to preform Bang Bang. And since I'm such an excellent rapper, I'd be rapping the rap yo. We also decided on a name. Allison liked, Sucks For You but I thought it was a bit harsh. So, we went with Love&Chaos. Although tomorrow  we'll probably change it. Again.
"We're on." Allison nudged me, waking me from my thoughts.
"Ready?" I grinned, forgetting my nerves in the moment.
"Let's do this."
We walked onstage and I was immediately blinded by the spotlight.
"Woah." I gasped and I really wanted to raise my hands and shield my face, but I forced them at my sides. Allison introduced us while my eyes adjusted. Then we walked upstage and grabbed our mikes while the music started.

Me: "She got a body like an hourglass

We held out our last note and then sharply cut it off.
For a moment there was silence and I thought, 'we're we really that bad?'
And then the room erupted in applause. Several people at the bar stood up and whistled. The manager was seated in the front where we quietly assessed us.
Then he thanked us politely and we walked off stage.
"You should have heard the standing ovation I got!" Rachel was bragging to Ashton back stage. It turns out Alison's brother, Calum's band was 5 sos and apparently they were mega famous. Go figure.
Anyways, Ashton was staring at her like she was a goddess and I threw up in my mouth a bit.
"It was amazing, we were so good," Rachel sang.
"You were so good. We messed up so badly, Michel tripped and fell on Luke and we had to start the whole song over," Ashton sheepishly admitted.
"Whatever, anyway everyone was clapping for me!"
I rolled my eyes and walked away. Fortunately, we were the last to preform so the top three would be announced shortly.

"Can I get all the singers on stage?" The manager yelled into a mike. The bands shuffled out onto stage and nervously awaited the announcement. All except Rachel, who strutted out like she owned the world.
"The teams moving on to the next round are...The Sexy Muffins!"
Rachel merely smirked as if she knew all along.

They cheered and high fived each other.
"...And..."
I clutched Allison's hand for comfort.
