Chapter 9

Ming Lynn's Pov:

I Woke Up The Next Morning And Took A Good Look At My Face. I Was Horrified. The Bruises Were A Deep Dark Color And I Look Like I Was Hit In The Face With A Bat.

I Took A Shower And Got Dressed. I Used Make Up To Cover Up The Bruises And Best As I Could Before Leaving The House And Making My Way To The Shop.

I Was The First One There And I Went To My Station And Made Sure Everything Was Set Up Right. I Went Into My Office And Sat At My Desk.

Last Night Played Over In My Head. I Held My Eyes Closed To Try And Compress My On-Coming Headache. I Took A Breather And Them Made By Way Back To The Main Area.

June And Sam Were Walking In And When They Saw Me They Smiled And Waved.

"Hey Babe." June Said.

"Hey."

"What's Wrong, You Look Down."

"Nothing, Just Tired."

June Gave Me A Look, One I Wasn't Too Familiar With. I Knew That She Knew I Was Lying But I Wasn't Going To Say Anything. I Didn't Want Her To Get Involved.

I Opened Up Shop And We Had People Coming In Within Seconds. We Were More Than Packed. I Was Working On Someone When Jame's Cousin, Tylen, Came In. He Came Over To Me And Gave Me A Hug.

"Wassup Baby Girl." He Said.

"What You Doing Here Ty."

"I Need A Line Up."

"Yeah You Definitely Do." I Said Looking At Him.

He Chuckled. " You Got Jokes."

"Umm Do You Mind Waiting About 20 Minutes."

"Nah, That's Fine."

"Alright Gone Head And Take A Seat."

After Dealing With The Woman In My Seat That Wouldn't Stop Talking, I Took Tylen. As I Plugged Up The Stuff Tylen Started Asking Questions.

"So How You Been?" He Asked.

"Uh, Pretty Good."

"How's Things Going With James."

"....Fine."

"You Okay."

I Picked Up The Razer. "Yeah I'm Good."

"You Sure, You Don't Sound So Thrilled."

"I'm Fine Tylen, Just A Little Tired."

I Lined Him Up Real Quick And Continued Working On The Next Few People That I Had. I Was Truly Getting Tired And Was Ready To Go Home And Get In My Bed. After Leaving The Shop Que Called. He Asked If I Wanted To Get Something To Eat. We Met Up At Pizza Hut And Went In. We Sat Down And Ordered A Medium Half Cheese, Half Sausage Pizza.

We Were Talking And I Was Telling Que About My Day And The People I Had To Deal With. He Was Just Staring At Me As I Talked When All Of A Sudden He Furrowed His Eyebrows.

"What?" I Said, Stopping Mid-Sentence.

"What's On You Face."

Forgetting I Had A Face Full Of Makeup I Wiped My Cheek, Wiping Some Of The Make Up. Que Stood From His Seat And Came Over To Me. He Grabbed A Chair And Set It By Me Then Sat Down. He Grabbed My Face And Turned My Head. He Let Out A Heavy Huff And Let Go Of My Face. I Looked At Him And He Was Clenching His Jaw.

"Did James Do That?"

"..Yes."

"Ming-"

"I Know I Know, I Tried And This Is What Happened."

"Well You Know What Imma Take Care Of It."

It Was Completely Quiet The Rest Of The Time There. We Ate And Took Whatever Else With Us. We Went Our Separate Ways.

Jacquees' Pov:

This Nigga Obviously Thinks This Is Some Kind Of Game. I Can't Deal With This Nigga Thinking It's Okay To Put His Hands On Ming. I Already Told Him Once. Now I Gotta Pay Him A Little Visit. I Called Up Tylen And Asked For James Address. When I Pulled Up, Some Of The Lights Were On So I Knew He Was Home.

I Walked Straight Up To The Front Door And Knocked On It. As Soon As He Answered The Door I Sent My Right Fist Into His Face. He Stumbled back And Fell, Holding His Nose.

"What The Fuck Are You Doing Here?!"

"You Put Your Hand On Her Again!?" I Grabbed Him By His Shirt And Pulled Him Up.

He Chuckled. "Man Fuck Outta Here With That Bullshit."

I Let Him go, Two Piecing Him. I Hit Him In His Stomach And He Curled Over, Grabbing It. I Punch Him In His face Again.

"Ain't Nobody here To Save Yo Ass This Time Nigga!" I Yelled Before Punching Him A Few More Times, Knocking Him Back On The Ground.

"Fuck You Bitch!"

I Kicked Him In His Side. "Pussy Niggas Hit Females." He Groaned In Pain Indicating He Couldn't Take Anymore. "Don't Let Me Find Out You Still Fucking With Her."

I Walked Out, Getting Into My Car And Leaving. I Took Care Of What I Had To. I'm Not Gone Stand By And Let This Nigga Hurt Her Like That. A Couple Of Days Past And I Told Ming About How I Handled James, We Were Standing In Her Office.

"Oh My God Que, Why Did You Do That."

"I Was Protecting You."

There Was A Loud Knock On The Door Followed By It Just Swinging Open. The Cops Came Rolling In.

"Are You Jacquees Broadnax?"

"Yeah."

One Of The Cops Grabbed Me And Started Putting Me In Hand Cuffs." You Are Being Arrested For Second Degree Battery. You Have The Right To Remain Silent. Anything You Say Can And Will Be Used Against You Inn A Court Of Law. You Have The Right To An Attorney..."

They Started Taking Me Out Of The Shop. Ming And June Were Following Close Behind.

"If You Cannot Afford An Attorney, One Will Be Provided For You. Do You Understand The Rights I Have Just Read To You." I Nodded. "With These Rights In Mind, Do You Wish To Speak To Me." I Shook My Head No.

They Proceeded To Put Me In The back Of The Squad Car.

"I'll Be Right Behind Okay." Ming Said Before The Cop Got In And Drove Off.
