Was she the one?

The meeting

The sun was at its lowest form in the clouds , it was 2 p.m. in the afternoon. Me and my sister were getting ready to go out to a nearby complex around few kilometers away from our housing area. Dad had promised us to bring us there. Well I dressed as every normal guy would as we guys are always known as having bad dressing sense by the girls. As for my sister she took almost an hour getting ready in her room. My phone rang and I knew dad is already here, so I informed my mom Julia that I and my sister Lucia will be having lunch together with dad. So without wasting anymore time we went straight into the car. Dad gave both of us a kiss on the cheeks as soon as we lay down on the sofa of the car. As usual he asked us "where are you guys planning to head today?, the usual replied Lucia. Dad was confused at the moment and he replied " I don't know the usual since you guys don't go to the same complex twice every month ". Lucia replied "maybe somewhere new I suppose I guess" with a laughter. "Perhaps the new complex that has just been recently opened near the Griffon road", I suggested.

                 Well Lucia and dad agreed to my suggestion and dad drove us there. The complex was really humongous , it was like an Eiffel tower I suppose but a bit more bigger in size. So as usual dad parked his car at the roof top of the complex  cause he was so in love with his BMW car. So we headed to the entrance of the complex and the smell of KFC pulled me aside since Lucia and I hadn't took our lunch, I suggested dad to stop by at KFC to get some food before starting our shopping spree. Dad told me to get a table for us , so I went and got one nearby the counter. I heard a voice yelling Lucia from my back , as I turn I saw a shadow passing by me and hugging my sister. So I took a closer look at the girl yelling my sister name so loud in a complex so crowded with people, the girl who yelled my sister name was Jessica. I knew her long time back through a social media called Facebook, we were just friends in social media and wouldn't really start up a conversation unless its during festival seasons where we wish one another. Few minutes later, my sister Lucia introduced me to Jessica and we acted like we just met but we knew each other long time back in the social media.At that very moment everything changed in my life literally everything. Whenever she would turn and look at me my heartbeats starts pumping real fast and my adrenaline would rush all over my body but I stay calmed not to make anything obvious to her. So Jessica joined us in for lunch with her friends, they filled in the empty places around the table. The best part was she sat right opposite of me, I couldn't really grip hold of my burger that I'm holding because I was so hypnotized by her beauty. I was trying my best not to make the whole situation awkward because if she caught me staring at her like a thirsty vampire staring at her girl to suck her blood off I'm pretty much screwed up. My dad gave me a nudge he told "son are you alright? you have been holding that burger for quite a long time now", I just smiled at him and gave a ferocious bite on the burger. My dad whispered to my ears so low it tickled my ears " son are you hitting on Lucia friend Jessica?". I replied " dad this isn't a great time to be discussing this in front of her" with a fake smile so dad would knew not to joke around. So we were done having our lunch, I thought this gonna be a goodbye to the meeting but Lucia turned up inviting Jessica to join us in a shopping spree. In my mind,I was like please say yes Jessica so I could admire you all day. Jessica replied " sure why not seems like a great idea", and she hold her friends hand and walk together. I gave a wide smile when she agreed to join us and she smiled back , my heart literally melted like an ice cream during an hot weather. So we walk down to a shop name H&M . Well as you everyone knows girls get really crazy during shopping but she wasn't into shopping she was just standing and looking at Lucia and her friends grabbing each clothes as they came in contact with. Dad left us alone for awhile cause he wanted to get his coffee because he drinks coffee every 4 p.m. in the evening. So there was me standing like 20 cm behind Jessica, while the others we approximately few meters away from her. I wanted to start a conversation with her as this was my best opportunity to be talking to her but I literally chicken out cause I was kinda scared that I would mess things up. So I as I walk into the men section of H&M, Jessica literally poked me at the back and asked " why are you shopping alone ? can I join you". In my mind I literally laughed like seriously you are asking me why am I shopping alone ? cause my dad freaking ditched me for his coffee time well not actually ditched but he just went to have his lovely coffee time. So I replied " yes you can", so we walked together looking at clothes that would suit me but at some point the entire shopping thing wasn't there anymore cause we were talking about each others personal life more. The conversation between us was long cause my sister and her friends was all busy with their shopping and dad was still having his coffee break. Jessica nudged me at the back and said "so hows your girlfriend then ?", I laughed and replied " do I look like I have one?"." You are quite a good looking guy so I practically assumed you have one" said Jessica. At that very moment of my life I was actually proud of myself for looking good and I thanked my parents for doing a great job." Nah I look like every teenager boy you can find in schools " I said, she gave me that fake laugh " yeah you look like every teenager boy I had met" she said. So I took this golden opportunity asking her if she was single or not with a cool tone so she might not think that I'm so into her." Well yeah I'm single at the fact all the guys are jerk most of the time" she said. Well that really turn off my mood on her,like what the fuck was she thinking? I'm not that kind of guy. So I kept silent and didn't wanna start any conversation anymore with her and thank god Lucia had done shopping and dad was done with his coffee break. Lucia waved goodbye to Jessica and her friends, I just stood waiting for my sister to stop waving her hands. Jessica waved her hand at me , I completely ignored her and walked away because of her statement 'that all boys were jerks'. It was already evening, so dad dropped us at home and got back with his job.
