After I part ways with Flynn, I enter my house only to be tackled by the twins.
Emma and Jamie are my siblings. At 10 years old they are six years younger than me.
"Jackie!" Emma screeches.
"You're back!" Jamie said finishing Emma's sentence.
"Now you can play with us!" Emma squeals in delight.
"I'd love to play with you but you'll have to get off of me first" I reply.
As soon as they hear that the both of them jump off of me as fast as they can and drag me to the woods behind our backyard where their "secret" hideout is located.
Its a treehouse we made out of some old wood we had found around the area. We also used a few supplies that we scrounged up around the house. The twins lead me up the wooden ladder and across the rickety bridge to where they had started to make a fort on the inside of the tree house.
"We started on this fort but we need help with a few finishing touches" says Emma.
"Actually, Emma is the one who needs help deciding but I'm settled on having the fort be mostly green so it can be camouflaged" Jamie answers back.
"Well, that could be cool but I still think purple would be really awesome as well!" Says an indecisive Emma.
"Ewww...no way! Purple's a girly color!" Jamie replies in disgust.
"Ok, how about we make it mostly blue, that way it's not to "girly" but it's not totally green either" I suggest.
They quickly glance at each other then smile and nod in agreement.
Once we finish with the fort Mom calls us in for dinner and I can't help but think about how school would start back up again in a few days.
My mind also wanders to the thought of new students.
I wonder what this school year will bring.
