I am painting the walls in my room (just a little something I like to do) when I receive a text.
I check my phone and it's from my older brother Max.
He's what you would call a "skater boy." However, when it comes to family he's always there for me.
His text says "Hey Zel, just wanted to let u know I'm on my way back from the skate park and I've got something to tell u when I get home cya then!"
I text back "Ok cya soon!"
I wonder what he has to tell me.
About 15 minutes later I hear the front door open and footsteps echoing through the house.
"ZZEEELL!" I hear Max scream for me.
"Coming!" I reply.
I run downstairs towards the living room and plop down on the couch next to Max.
"So, what's the big news you wanted to tell me so badly?" I say obviously curious.
"We are getting two new students this year!" He tells me clearly excited about the situation.
"Oooohhhh! Maybe I'll be able to make friends with them!" I exclaim jumping up from the couch.
He laughs "Knowing you Zel, I'm sure you'll be friends before first period even starts!"
I nod in agreement as I know he's probably right. I've always been very friendly and outgoing to everyone I meet no matter who it is.
"Well, here's to the new school year!" I exclaim as I raise my hand up pretending I'm holding up a glass.
Max chuckles and goes along with my act and raises his "glass" as well.
" To the new school year!" He nods in confirmation and we both just smile at our silliness.
