John and Sherlock stood in the middle of a forest, warmly dressed in Coats, scarfs and Gloves. There were other People around looking for a Christmas tree. Most of them took the first tree they saw and were happy about it. But Sherlock and John were now for an hour in there without finding the right one.

They looked a Little bit lost between plenty of Christmas trees in every size. But of course Sherlock wasn't happy with one of them. And John was one "Not this one" away to Punch him.

Sherlock was on a Mission. John wanted a tree. So it had to be perfect! But Sherlock found fault with every single exemplar. To small, to thin, not enough leaves, not green enough, or it had a funny shape.

"We have to go this way." Sherlock decided suddenly. "There we will hopefully find better Exemplars" But John was at the end of his tether.

"Maybe you're in expert in deduction. But not in Christmas trees! So lets take this one over there and go home" John said huffish. Snow scrooped under his feet.

Sherlock rolled his eyes. "We will not take a ordinary tree when we can have a perfect one. And I am an expert about nearly everything"

John couldn't believe the ego of this man. "Oh yeah? Then tell me why there should be better trees than here." John pointed in the same direction, like Sherlock did earlier. "Most People are staying here"

"Because These People do not know better. But we have a secret weapon. Me." John rolled his eyes over so much Drama. "Ordinary people, who can't see and who have no idea about trees. For example: a Family with 5 members. Typical City folk. The father is a Manager, the woman a secretary. The eldest child is not older than 14. From where can they discern a good tree from a bad tree?  Enthusiastic and uninformed, they don't notice the already Brown needles and the hardly noticeable incline." Like always this came out in an incredible Speed. Sherlock took a deep breath.

"But this man" he pointed to a lonely man on the other side."Plaid Shirt, solid boots, an axe with signs of usage. And the beard seems to be necessary too. Altogether: This man seems to know the forest and the trees. So, complicate question: Who do you follow? Unknown City folk or a woodman?"

"Okay, okay. Don't be so dramatically." John muttered.

John walked in front of Sherlock, so he couldn't see him smile benignly.

Some feet deeper in to the forest they found indeed a magnificent Christmas tree. Perfect size, Color and everything. John was astonished.

"Sherlock, it's perfect!" he said, while examining  the tree roundly.

Sherlock smiled brightly. He felt a warm ball growing in his chest. He needed a Moment till he figured out that John was the reason that he felt so good and blissful. Johns happiness made him happy.

----

Back in 221B baker street, they dragged the huge tree right in the living room.

With the aid of Mrs Hudson, they got some decoration stuff and decorated the tree with joy.

But before they could start. Mrs Hudson gave them their Christmas presents.

Christmas Jumpers.

Of course they had to put them on immediately.

Prepared, they were ready to decorate the tree with tinsels, balls and lights.

John was never so happy before. Now he was here. decorating a Christmas tree in Jumpers with Sherlock, while listening to Christmas Songs on the Radio. Could it be true?

Afterwards they marveled at their tree. "And now?" John asked.

Sherlock dug a small present out. "Merry Christmas John" he said gentle. John turned to Sherlock, speechless. Sherlocks eyes were fixed on him.

John unwrapped a small blue box. "It's beautiful Sherlock" he said, deeply moved.

"I should give you something too." it came to Johns mind.

"John, you're all i want for Christmas." Sherlock responded, his eyes still fixed on John.

There were no words, so John just led Forward.

They kissed under their Christmas tree.

"I take you as my Christmas present this year" Sherlock whispered
