I was walking into the building, holding Sam's hand securely. Her small fingers wrapped perfectly around mine. Every once and awhile she'd give it a slight squeeze and look up at me with a smile. Once the doors were opened, I could feel the beat of the music, radiate throughout my body. It was like I could feel each instrument playing inside my body.Couples were clung to each other, smiling and laughing. I was so excited to spend my whole night with the love of my life.
It was almost a chore to get Sam to finally dance. She was a bit shy about it, which was cute.
We were having fun, the smile on her face the whole night was priceless. I soon regretted drinking so much. I promised Sam I'd be right back.
I walked out of the dance room and down a long narrow hall. I walked, and walked, and walked some more. The hall seemed endless.
I figured I was lost, but there was no one around to help me with directions. I finally came to a door. There was two people under the staircase, kissing. My heart dropped to my stomach when I could finally see the girls face.
It was Sam.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
My eyes opened, and I lifted my head to Sam, having some sort of seizure.
I went in full panic mode. I let go of her hand and ran out to the hall, calling for help.
"Someone help! My girlfriend is having a seizure!"
Two nurses and a doctor ran into the room. The nurses held her down, and the doctor was messing with some of the tubes connected to her.
I didn't know what to think or do. My heart was racing so fast I was surprised I didn't have a seizure as well.
What boggled my mind, is why this happened so suddenly? She was perfectly fine moments ago. It was like we were both having the same dream.. but that's not possible, right?
One of the nurses approached me while the curtain closed around Sam.
"You'll need to leave, your girlfriend is in a bad state and will need her space."
"No I-.."
"Please sir, she'll be fine." She said as she started to push me out of the doorway and close the door.
I watched from the small, square window in the door. I watched as they opened the curtain, and Sam's delicate body ly there stiffly.
"I'm so sorry.." that was all I manged to say.
