Chapter 4

I sat on my bed hugging my knees and rocking forwards and backwards.

I looked at the clock and it was seven thirty. The sound of the seconds hand was defending as I stressed, wondering what was going to happen now.

What are they going to do with me? Am I going to be taken back home? Who are they?

Then suddenly that thought hit me hard.

Who were those people? Do they work for my dad? Do my parents know about them? Are they dangerous? If they find me should I go with them?

Hundreds of questions clouded my mind.

Ring...ring...ring...

The sound of the ringing phone broke my thoughts as I got up and cautiously walked towards the desk where it was vibrating. I was trying to make as little amount of sound possible, not that it would help my situation.

My hand was shaking as I picked up my phone and answered it.

"Hello?" I answered cautiously, not knowing who the receiver was.

"Hi Pay," the sound of Tyler's voice comforted me as I felt a gush of relief flow throughout my body.

"Tyler it's you," I breathed.

"Yeah it's me, who else would it be?" I could visualise him shaking his head at his rhetorical question on the other end of the phone.

I missed him.

"Anyway, how are you? What did you do today?" he asked eagerly .

"Well I got my makeover done, but I've got a major problem. There are two men downstairs, in the lobby, questioning the receptionist about me. They looked like detectives and were dressed in black," I informed him.

"Men in black," he sniggered on the other end of the receiver.

"Tyler! This is serious stuff here! Some best friend you are."

"I'm kidding sorry, sorry. Did you hear anything they were saying?"

"No," I told him.

"So how do you know they were talking about you?" he asked.

"Because my name was at the top of their clipboards with a picture of me," I said in a 'duh it's obvious' tone.

"Well maybe if you-" he began to offer but was cut off by a loud knock at the door cut him off.

"Oh crap! I think that might be them at the door! Tyler I'm really sorry I've gotta go, I'll call you back when I can. Bye," I whispered.

"OK bye, and good luck," he replied encouragingly. "Oh and don't forget to sent me a photo of the new you. I need to see my new smokin' BFF," he quickly added, hanging up straight after so I couldn't say anything more.
