Yang found herself in her room she would have been left alone in had it not been for her stubborn Aunt. Thyra sat at her side, her arm wrapped around her, as she soothingly rubbed the younger girl's arm.

"Why are you here? Don't you think I'm some kind of monster?" Yang asked, staring at the ground, unable to make eye contact with her Aunt.

"Yang, I've known you your entire life. I am very aware of who you really are," Thyra replied, holding the girl against her side, sighing as Yang rested her head on her shoulder. "Sweetie, you're not a monster. Though everyone else might think so. But what does it what matter what everyone else thinks? What's important is what you think of yourself."

The woman planted a light kiss on the top of the blonde's head. She began to gently rock her niece, humming a quiet lullaby.

"Why are you always so kind to me? Isn't it my fault your relationship with Uncle Qrow fell apart?" Yang spoke softly, still unable to look her in the eye. "Why would you still protect me and comfort me?"

"Yang," Thyra sighed, shaking her head, as she wrapped her other arm around her niece, rubbing gentle circles into her back. "I told you back then, and I'll tell you now. Nothing you have done is the reason my relationship with your Uncle failed. In the end, Yang, we just weren't good for each other. I couldn't help him or comfort him, especially since I was still dealing with my own problems. We never could've maintained our relationship. We were already falling apart before I left."

A small blonde stood in the doorway that lead to the kitchen, and peeked at the couple there.

Her Uncle had his head in his hands, and appeared to be very stressed. His fiancée stood at the counter, watching him with saddened eyes.

She got up from her position, and walked behind him. She placed her hands on his shoulders, and massaged them.

"I'm so sorry, Qrow. But it's not your fault. Please don't take it so ha-" she had begun in a hushed tone, but she was startled as her fiancé jumped up, shaking her hands off him, and pushing her away.

"Just shut up, Thyra! Like you even understand! And I already know it's not my fault," he growled, crimson eyes boring into her skull. "It's your damn fault this happened," he hissed, as he stormed off, and out of the house.

Peering at her Aunt curiously, the blonde felt her stomach drop watching her reaction to his harsh words.

Her hands gripped at the end of her loose blue cardigan. She was trembling, her shoulders jolting as she took sharp inhales trying to control her breathing. She began to make choked noises, before she collapsed to her knees. The little blonde was left speechless, watching the woman that was once so strong, bawl into her hands. Her body racked with sobs, and the young blonde had decided she needed to find a way to make her Aunt and Uncle feel better.

Her decision had consisted of a hunt for her biological mother. She had brought her younger sister along, and hoped only for the best results for her return.

But she instead had been brought back to her home, her parents a mess, and her Aunt completely distressed.

When she lay in her bed, she could hear her Uncle screaming at his fiancée. It made her heart clench in both guilt and agony.

"If you didn't have a breakdown the night Raven left, I probably could have stopped her, and Yang wouldn't have gone out and done something so insane! If you could just pull yourself together and grow up like the rest of us, maybe you could function on your own! I'm sick of it, Thyra! Sick of it!"
