Waking Up

You wake weak and with hazy vision. Your head throbs, your limbs are weak, and you can't even raise your head. It doesn't matter to you though. You were still marvelling at the dream you had just had.

Was Aeva me?

The thought could not leave your mind, and for seemingly hours, you stay on the ground and wait for strength to return to your flesh.

In the middle of the night, you finally sit up. A little light-headed, you try to stand. You end up falling straight down a foot into the snow hitting the ice hidden under the frigid substance

I guess crawling then. Man, I hate crawling.

The rough snow forces the skin on your knees to submit as raw skin is created and is now burning into your knees.

This place is harsh, you think, How did I even get here?

You begin to feel strength refill your weakened knees and muscles. You try to stand, and you almost do although you end up sitting and waiting for a few minutes instead.

"What is that?" you say aloud.

A massive temple stands high in the distance. Although there is snow all around you, a slight warmth comes to you when you so much as glanced at it. The strength returns instantly to your whole body, and you are able to absorb what the hazy terrain of the world around you really is. The snow is pretty much the same, but you are on a plain, and the mountains are many miles further away than what you thought before. There is a forest to your right and a continuance of the plain to your left with the colossal mountains surrounding it all, including the temple.

But the thing that mostly catches your eye is the blizzard heading directly your way. For the first time in your entire life, it seems, you feel vulnerable. Vulnerable in a way that you feel defeated. Vulnerable in a way that doesn't provoke sadness or rage. This storm makes you feel as if you are dead inside.... You are scared.

You feel as if your Cramosite sword and Storgosite armor will never protect you again. You will never find out what your dream was. You will never know who Josh was. Never again will you run. You. Are. Scared.

Flames. Black. Purple. Faces. Yes, they are here. The cursed flames were in the storm.

"Run, Aeva!" a male voice screams from above, "To the Temple!"

Josh? A bright light was above you, and you knew that was where the voice was coming from.

"Run, I told you! RUUUUUN!"

Wake up, a voice, that sounds extremely similar to your own, echoes in the back of your head, like it is living in your own thoughts...
