On November 11, 2002, my 6th birthday...I was playing with one of my friends outside when I tripped and fell. I don't remember what it felt like, I probably blocked it out. But I had broken my left femur (thigh bone) in a spiral fracture. I remember not wanting the perametic to touch my leg or to cut my brand new khakies! Which is probably why I hate khakies-to this very day!
After I got into the ambulance they rushed me to Oklahoma city children's hospital and had to do a rodding surgery on my broken leg. They inserted a metal rod inside my leg to help strengthen it. After my surgery they ran a skin biopsy on me and diagnosed me with type 1 Osteogenesis imperfecta. I would later be diagnosed with type 4 as well.
