PROLOGUE
I couldnt' take it any longer so I spoke the words that I swore I would never say to my only remaining parent. "I hate you. Go to hell.", I pushed him away from me and I ran out of the doorway. I picked up my sneakers and tied them on. I ran. I ran and ran. I ran for miles until the pain began to ease up. I stopped at the park and plopped down on a bench. I cried. Maybe it was hours. Could of been days, I wasn't exactly sure. All I knew was, going to an all girls school would kill me. It would slowly kill me inside, and I had to find a way out.
That was when I remembered my dad mentioning the location of St. Mary's. "Right across from St.John's." An all guys school. I smirked.
I spoke softly to myself, "Dad. You messed with the wrong person. Looks like your daughter's going to St.John's."
~~
Packing sucked. No doubt about it. But knowing I was about to go on vacation with my dad warmed me up inside. We hadn't had time to ourselves for years.
It was one of those days. One of those days where my hair had been haphazardly stacked on top of my head, had zero makeup on, and was styling baggy sweats and a faded old camp-shirt. Basically, a "real" day. I had been sprawled across my bed with popcorn in one hand and a bar of chocolate in the other. Channel Surfing had been my go-to hobby within the past week. It was a slow few weeks, waiting for my dad to get back.
A quick ding had sounded from downstairs and I sprinted down the stairs. I opened the door with a bright smile, "Oh. It's just you.", I answered dissapointedly, rolling my eyes.
"Ma'm, will that be cash or credit?", the pizza man stammered.
"Obviously cash." I grabbed a crinkly ten and twenty dollar bill from inside my pocket and handed it to the awkward guy. "Keep the change...", I began. "What are you looking at.", I snapped.
"N-nothing. Are all these pizzas for you, miss?"
"I can eat whatever the hell I want.", I grabbed the three boxes of pizzas and began to shut the door.
"Wait!", the now very irritating pizza man shouted.
"What is it?", I demanded, a sure wave of annoyance flashing in my eyes.
"You look so-er-fit.", he began.
"And?"
"How do you have such a..ahem, uhh, you know... How are you so, umm-", He tried.
"If you're asking how I manage to stay like this-", I motioned to my body, "It happens to be because I have a fast metabolism. If you're trying to hit on me , then i'd suggest you not, cause i'm really not in the mood. Alright?", with that I slammed the door in the poor little pizza boy's face. Apart from that awkward encounter, I hadn't realized that my day was only going to grow increasingly worse.
~~
The doorbell rang again and I tore myself away from my 5th slice of pizza. My lips spread across my face warmly and jumped on the man outside the door.
"Daddy! DADDDDDYYY YOU'RE HOME!", I screamed excitedly.
I felt his muscles tighten and I hopped off. "What's wrong?"
"Honey, we need to talk.", my dad spoke quietly. Mind you, this was never a good sign.
"What's wrong.", I demanded.
"There's been a minor set back in our little vacation plan.", my dad spoke softly.
"What?", tears began welling up in my eyes.
"Well, Roxi needs a place to stay, you know, dealing with her family troubles and what not, so I suggested that she come here-"
"Dad, you know I absolutely cannot stand that awful woman!", I began to scream, tears flooding over my face.
"Don't you dare call her that. And I know, so I got you a great spot at a great school. It's really not that far away."
"Far away?", I quivered, tears blurring my vivion. I was about to throw up.
"It's a few states over in Massachusetts. It's called St. Mary's prep. My buddy, Jack, you remember Jack, right? He got you a spot there. There's an all guys school near by, it's right acroos from St. John's. I tried many other bording schools, but with your grades and not exactly striking performance in school, they wouldn't consider it. I pulled a few strings with Jack and got you in! You'll be starting next week.", My supposed father smiled at me as if it was the most brilliant plan in the whole world.
"You're choosing that two-faced, blonde bimbo of a whore over me. Your own flesh and blood. I'm your daughter, you can't just ship me away!", I roared angrily.
"Honey, it's really only for the best. I mean, I was already thinking of sending you somewhere to straighten you out anyways, and Roxi really needs somewhere to stay so I figured you wouldn't mind.", My dad attempted making things seem "reasonable" in his stupid lawyer voice.
"I can't believe-",
"Honey, it's really for the best. You're going to love it there, it's an all girls school and you'll do great with the people-"
"What the hell do you mean, "do great with the type of people"? How can I ever live this down? You're ruining me, you're ruining my life, and you're ruining our VACATION!", I yelled, desperately trying to change his mind.
"It's really a great school, you'll understand soon enough-"
I couldnt' take it any longer so I spoke the words that I swore I would never say to my only remaining parent. "I hate you. Go to hell.", I pushed him away from me and I ran out of the doorway.
