A month later that morning the doctor was called for Valentine's abundant amount of sickness. She has been retching daily for the past month. Haydee and Maximilian insisted that they should call a doctor, even after Valentine convinced Edmond and Maximillian that she is perfectly fine, Valentine was hiding the fact that it is been going on for so long, and how often it had been. Edmond and Maximilian believed it was nerves from the wedding and with her grandfather passing making her sick to her stomach. She can not hide that thing from Haydee though. Haydee believing it was something more, something was not quite right, it did not seem right.
"I am fine, I do not need a doctor. This is just how some people handle with stress and how they grieve." Valentine still trying to convince Haydee even after the doctor was called and on his way.
"It is too late for that, he is already on his way, and it's been a month, you had time to grieve. You have not been out running lately, and it shows. " Haydee said with a hint of coldness.
"You are not one to say that," she gave a dig back to Haydee. "But I insist, I am fine, he is going to come, and nothing is the matter." Valentine said."Then you have nothing to worry about." Was all that Maximillian could interject before the doctor came running in.
"What is wrong?" he questions not to anyone particular, rather just in general.
"They are worried about me; I have been having an upset stomach lately, causing me to retch liquid and solids. I have also been experiencing headaches and been craving foods I normally do not eat." Valentine answers.
"Do not forget the moodiness you have been." Haydee interjected. An hour later examining her, he comes up with one reason why this could be.
"With those symptoms it is seen as though you are with child." He says shocking everyone. No one answers the question but looks at Valentine.
"What? I do not know what... what to say...I do not know anything about being pregnant nevertheless a mother." Valentine finally says eyes watering. Haydee and Edmond see the worry in not only Valentine's face but as well as in Maximillian's eyes.
"Well, would you not want to keep the baby, I can give an..." the doctor was cut off before he could mention the idea of an abortion.
"No, we are keeping it." Maximillian says rushing over to Valentine's side. "Right?" He asks Valentine knowing how scared she is and how few times they had talked about starting a family so soon. Valentine nods her head in agreement to Maximilian.
"Well, okay if you say so, is there any questions you would like me to answer?" Doctor Allen asks as he is packing his stuff up getting ready to leave.
"No that is all, thank you." Valentine says still in shock.
