Cuddles (Joe/Sal)

The rain pounds against the window and they're both lost in a tangle of limbs and blankets. Cuddled on the couch and listening to the silence of the four walls that box them cozily together, the pair don't feel any inclination to move excluding if they're nuzzling further into one another.

Joe sighs, soft breath fanning against Sal's neck. With Joe curled into his side, his arms wrapped around him as Sal lays beneath him, Joe propped on his shoulder as he lounges atop him, Vulcano pulls his head back to glance down and check he's still awake. He is, eyes half-lidded with the promise of a satisfying doze if left unattended.

"Comfortable?" Sal chirps quietly, raising a hand to stroke lazily through Joe's hair as awareness slowly seeps back into his veins. Eyes flicker with a few rapid blinks before he tilts his head to meet Sal's gaze.

"Mm. Very much so," he replies, lips twitching with the presence of a lofty smile. "...is somethin' wrong with that?"

Sal can hardly stop the chuckle that escapes him, head shaking minutely as he gazes at Joe. However he'd ended up so lucky as to have him for himself, he hopes it doesn't escape the other as to how grateful he is for such luck being granted to him. Endless hours of thanking his lucky stars had gone into waking up to Joe Gatto every morning - and what made his adoration that much more endearing was that the other Joker didn't seem to realise just how big an impact he had - both in the past and currently - in his life.

"Course not, you dope," he chides softly, gently guiding Joe's head back against his chest and combing through his hair. The thud of the rain, unrelenting and merciless, serves as a dull melody for the men to slumber to, though Joe seems much further along in the sleep cycle than Sal is. No, the latter is very much aware as he moves his hand through his lover's hair and tangles his fingers in it just to feel that much more real. Tender scenes like this always jog the Joker's memory, make him consider what life would have been like had none of this clicked into place. Had he not met Joe, had he not met the others, had he not taken a crazy chance on a crazy dream and made it as a comedian; all things he needn't have put thought to at all but does anyway. "I was just wondering."

Gatto grunts quietly, voice equally as low-pitched. "Wonder more quietly, yeah, Sally...?"

Sal scoffs with quiet laughter but does as he's told, falling into a comfortable quietness once more as the rain lulls him quicker along into the realm of sleep. He adores this part of their relationship so much, so intimately, for they've had so many years to get comfortable with one another that there's no room to feel awkward.

Eyes flutter shut, fingers continue to card and wind tenderly through soft hair and he's about to drop off in the warm embrace of the other Joker. So content, so cozy, so completely fulfilled as he serves as a pillow for the man he loves so much. Fingers eventually stop moving, sleep over-taking him, though not before he murmurs: "...love you, Joey."

The other man responds in the form of a soft snore, having falling asleep in his lover's embrace.
