Chapter 2

Melody's POV

*4 Hours Later (6:00 pm)*

Me:So what do you wanna do now?

I watched as Royalty started throwing the chew toy and laughing every time Troy picked it up and brought it back to her.

Royalty:Can I have applesauce please?

Me:Sure babygirl.

I went into the pantry,got a foam bowl,and filled the applesauce in it.I put a spoon in it and gave it to Royalty,who was just standing there waiting for the snack with Troy.

Me:No Troy.That's Royalty's.

He gave me the puppy eyes and stuck his tongue out.

Royalty:Can we share?

I got down to her level and messed up her hair.

Me:Sure baby girl.But only when your done.

Royalty:Thanks Melody.

Me:(Smiles) No problem,baby girl.

She got up in one of the dining room chairs and put her bowl on the table.

Royalty:When I'm done,you can have it.
Ok doggie?

Troy wagged his tail.Royalty dug into the applesauce,counting how many spoons she took.After about 6 spoons,she got out the chair and carefully put the little applesauce filled bowl on the floor.I laughed as Troy raced to the bowl and started licking all the leftover applesauce.

Royalty:(Walking over to me) Melody?

Me:(Smiles) Yes,baby girl?

Royalty:Can I take a bath?

Me:Sure.But you might have to get dressed in my clothes after.

Royalty:(Giggles) Ok.

I held her hand and helped her up the stairs to the bathroom.I put the water on and made sure it was warm before putting the bubble bath in it.

Me:Ready?

Royalty:Yep.

I helped her undress out of her little cute blue dress.

Me:Ok so-

I looked at her back to see little red marks on her butt and purple fading marks on her back.
I couldn't bare looking at the marks,so I put her in the bath and started washing her up.

Me:Royalty?

Royalty:Yes.

Me:Why do you have marks all over your back?

She put her head down.

Me:Babygirl?

I picked her head up with my hand.Little tears started to escape her eyes.

Me:Is anyone hurting you?

Royalty:Yes.

Me:Who?

Royalty:Hazel.

I felt tears fall down my eyes as my fists clenched.I was in between sad and furious.
How dare Hazel put her hands on a baby that's not even hers and leave all these bruises on her.I used to get ass whoopings,but it never left marks.Not like these.It looked like Hazel continually hit her.

Me:(Hugs her) Don't worry,Royalty.I won't let her hurt you.

She looked up at me and smiled.

Royalty:Tank you.

I gave her a kiss on her forehead and finished washing her up.I took her out the tub and dried her with a towel before draining the water from the tub.

Me:Let's get you some clothes.

I picked her up and started walking to my room.I put her down on my bed and started looking for some clothes.I picked up one of the panties that I was supposed to throw out since it shrunk in the dryer.
I forgot they were supposed to be hand dried😅
I picked up my Scooby Doo shirt and my colorful skittles socks and put them on the bed.

Royalty:You like Scooby Doo?

Me:(Smiles) I love him.

Royalty:(Giggles) Me too.

I helped her put on the panties and put a rubber band on it just so it wouldn't fall off.
Then I put the shirt on her,which ended at the bottom of her ankles.The last piece of clothing was the colorful socks.I put each foot in the soft socks and it stopped right at her knee.

Me:There you go!All done!

She looked at her outfit in the mirror and giggled.

Royalty:I look silly.

Me:Well-

I took off my tank top and put on another one of my Scooby Doo shirts,blue pajama shorts,and Starburst socks.

Me:(Making a silly face) I guess we both look silly.

She laughed at my little silly face.

Royalty:Melody?

Me:Yes babygirl.

She started rubbing her eyes.

Royalty:I'm tired.Can you and Troy sleep with me please?

Me:Sure babygirl.

I walked outside the bedroom and went close to the stairs.

Me:Troy!Come here,boy!

I heard little tiny feet race up the stairs,as a tiny figure started getting closer.I went back into the room and saw Royalty peacefully sleeping with her thumb in her mouth.
I patted the bed and watched as Troy snuggled in close to her,as her arms started to wrap around him.I went on the other side of her and wrapped my arms around her as she snuggled in closer to me.I pulled the cover over us and smiled.I patted Troy on the stomach and kissed Royalty on her forehead.

Me:(Smiles) My two little cuties.
