Blind Date
*~*~*~*Gerard;
Mikey told me to get a life. So what does he do? He sets me up with one of his friends. I tried asking questions, trying to get a peek at who this mystery guy is, but he won't spill anything. I can't even begin to pick out who it might be because Mikey has shit loads of friends. I'd say the entire student body is his friend, but that might be going a little overboard.
He spilled one little bit of information, which still hasn't led me to anyone that I could actually see Mikey wanting me to be with. I found out that he's a film major. Which is really interesting. I love films, I love analysing them, I love digging deeper into the details, and I just love how they're made. Which is, of course, probably why he set us up.
The blind date is tonight. My only instructions were to wear something nice, but not overly dressy, bring my wallet, and meet this mystery man at the Olive Garden just a few blocks down from our school at 7:30 PM. I'm surprisingly excited. I haven't gotten out much since this semester started, I've just been stuck in this cramped dorm room trying to stay on top of my assignments. Anyways, I should probably get ready; it's 6:30 and I walk slow.
I already took a shower about an hour ago so my hair could air dry, it makes it fluffy and I need all the good details I can get. I always like to get hygiene out the way before I get dressed to make sure I don't forget anything, so I'm just wearing my underwear right now. I need to brush my teeth and put on extra deodorant (I sweat when I'm nervous).
After knocking those things out of the way, I run a comb through my hair and push it out of my face so that this guy could get a good look at my face. Sorry, dude. Finally, I get to make the decision on what to wear, which isn't too difficult due to my lack of dress clothes. So, I picked a pair of black jeans and nice sweater. It's red with a interesting pattern sewed in. After putting those on, I put on a peacoat my mom got me for Christmas one year and slipped on my black converse.
I grab my phone and wallet, slipping them both into separate pockets, then left, making sure to lock the door.
It wasn't a far walk, but it took me a little while because, as I said, I walk slow. I made it to the restaurant at 7:22 PM, and I didn't see anybody that really stuck out. So, I decide to call Mikey because I don't want to look like an idiot looking for somebody whose name I don't know and face I wouldn't be able to recognize.
"Hello?" I hear Mikey's overly enthusiastic voice say.
"Yeah, dude, who's this guy I'm supposed to meet? Because I'm here and I have no idea who I'm supposed to be looking for." If it sounds like I'm impatient, I am. I don't like waiting, I don't like being confused. And both are currently happening.
"Okay, I give. His name is Frank. He's short, he's got kinda spiky looking hair, and he's already inside. He's waiting for you, we set up a table before you got there, just go in and tell the hostess your name."
"Okay, that would've been great to know before I got here."
"That's true. Go have fun, love you," he says happily.
"Love you, too," I reply before hanging up and shoving my phone back in the pocket.
I walk in the restaurant and get greeted by a blonde woman in and Olive Garden staff outfit. "Hello, how many?" She asks, smiling at me.
"Um, Gerard Way?" I say slowly. "I was told that-"
"Yeah! There's a cute guy waiting for you," she exclaims, "follow me." She turns and leads me through the restaurant to part a few tables from the main area. "Here you are," she says and lays a menu on the table across from my blind date.
