The castle was cleared up and ready for the new semester after about a month of hard work. Everyone was exhausted, excited, and satisfied by the time everything was done. They all headed to the Weasley's house, where everyone greeted them, and congratulated them on a job well done. Hermione said goodbye to Harry and the Weasleys, saying she needed to be with her family. She gave everyone a hug, and told them she would visit soon. She hugged Ron last, and kissed him before waving goodbye and disapparating. Since everyone else was going to stay, they all went upstairs to unpack and sleep.

Exhausted, Ginny jumped into bed, almost immediately falling asleep. A few hours later, she woke to the smell of lunch being prepared. Rubbing her eyes she made her way downstairs to find a delicious stack of about thirty sandwiches. "Help yourself," said Mrs. Weasley. It was a beautiful day, so Ginny brought their sandwiches outside. She sat under the wall that fenced off the garden. With her head tilted back against the wall, she took in the sweet smell of summer. Freedom and relaxation had come at last. She didn't have a care in the world.

When she had her fill if sandwiches, she had the bright idea that it would be a lovely day for a stroll in Diagon Alley. She came inside to look for Harry, and found him alone in Ron's attic bedroom. He looked up when he heard her footsteps and smiled. "What's up?" he asked. "It's a beautiful day and I thought it might be nice to take a trip to Diagon Alley, just the two of us," she answered. "Brilliant idea," said Harry getting up and setting down what looked like a picture album. "What's that?" Ginny asked as Harry hopped off the bed and joined her by the door. "Later," he replied. "Shall we go then?" He led the way downstairs to the large fireplace. Harry grabbed a handful of floo powder from a jar on the mantle and stepped into the fireplace. "See you in a minute," he said to Ginny. Then, in a very clear voice he said, "Diagon Alley!" and was engulfed in green flames as he threw the powder into the fireplace.

Ginny took a handful of floo powder and stepped into the fireplace. "Diagon Alley!" she said. Then she too burst into green flames and was spinning through the floo network, ending in Diagon Alley. "All right then?" asked Harry helping her out of the fireplace. "Yes," she replied dusting soot off of her clothes. They spent the day wandering in and out of shops, looking at the strange and wonderful things each one had to offer. They spent a lot of time at Quality Quiditch Supplies admiring the robes and the highly polished brooms. At last they headed to Fred and George's joke shop to visit George. The shop was wonderful. Ginny loved coming. It was always so cheerful and fun. They took their time playing with everything, and after seeing George they headed back home.

It had been a perfect day. Ginny's spirits were high when she went to sleep that night. For once she didn't have any nightmares and slept peacefully through the night.
