Chapter 7

emily pov

"hey guys." i said as i walked mona downstairs.

as she walked passed alison, i saw alison tense up and she nervously hugged herself, trying her best to be strong and glare at mona.

"bye em. call me?" mona said and i smirked, "sure thing." i kissed her lips and she left.

caleb said, "who is that em?"

"mona vanderwaal." i said and sighed, sitting on the couch.

alison came over and sat next to me.

"why?" she asked quietly, trying to not let caleb hear.

"i was drunk." i answered.

"not this morning." she hissed.

"i want to know the truth." i said, getting straight to the point.

"what do you mean? i told you." she said.

"mona told me that you cheated on her."

"WHAT?!" she screamed and caleb shot around, "what's wrong?"

"nothing. sorry." alison said quickly.

she looked back at me, "i didn't cheat."

"then tell me what happened."

she teared up and i was confused,

"alison-"

"you have no right to ask me that emily fields." she said and walked away from me.

i stood up and followed her quickly as caleb put the tv on.

i shut the bathroom behind her and locked it.

"i didn't mean to upset you. i just want to know the truth for once in my life." i said and sighed.

alison was facing the wall, playing with her hands.

"we were a good couple...until i found out who she truly was." she said.

i frowned, completely lost.

"what do you mea-"

"she abused me. a lot. she threatened me but my family found out and we moved away as quick as we could. she almost killed me emily. i was terrified. She said she still loves me but i know she is trying to get to me to hurt me again. She can't be trusted emily please. I don't want to be near her." she said and collapsed to the ground, practically wheezing.

I was shocked.

God she has some past huh?

"Wow...i uh...does caleb know?"

"No! And you can't tell him either." She said, standing up and pointing at me.

I sighed and raled a hand through my hair, "i gotta go." I said and went to leave.

"Where are you going?" She croaked out, practically broken.

I closed my eyes, "to kill mona."

She chuckled, "no you won't."

"Why not."

"Cause you'll get arrested and you're not that stupid emily." She said and rolled her eyes.

i scoffed, "whatever. she had no fucking right to hit you. or anyone!"

I shouted.

"God can you shut up?! caleb is right in the next room emily!" She whisper/yelled at me.

"are there scars?" i asked.

she sighed, "emily."

"just answer."
