Humpty Dumpty much?

It's 1 am and I'm still up, drinking coffee, blaring Melanie Martinez through my headphones, and reading. The usual Saturday night, well Sunday morning. I run out of coffee and trudge downstairs to get more. My aunt left a while ago to stay at her friends house who just got dumped, she's 29 and still has sleep overs, that's me in the future.
A loud knock on the door sends my mind into a panicked frenzy. I grab the first thing I see as a weapon, a spatula, and slowly walk to the door. I hear someone mumbling and get scared even more. Another knock and I'm right by the door, I slowly open it to be met with a very beat up and drunk Sam. To say the least, he looked like he fell off a wall. "Humpty Dumpty much?" I ask cocking an eyebrow up in amusement. "I got beat up." Sam states obviously. "I can see." I say opening the door for him. "Follow me." I add.
"Ah shit Vi! It burns." Sam exclaims. "I told you it would." I say applying more peroxide onto his cuts. Sam flinches again and grabs onto my leg. I'm sitting onto the counter while Sam is in between my legs since I'm so short. Sam sighs and places random patterns on my leg with his fingers as I run my hands through his hair to calm him down. "Come on lets get you some advil and send you to bed." I say quietly while hopping off of the counter with Sam holding my waist.
I show him to the guest bedroom but not before asking, "when are you going to tell me what happened tonight?" Sam just sends me a small smile and says "come cuddle and I will tell you" cheekily. I laugh knowing it's drunk Sam saying this, but I slide underneath the covers anyway and lay close to Sam, he places his arm around my waist and pulls me closer. "You smell like strawberries and vanilla." Sam says contently while smelling me. I smack his arm and tell him to tell me what happened, but it's the story I'm not ready for.
"I went to a bar to get my mind off things." Sam starts. "What things?" "My mom, Sadie, and well you." I blush while he continues and plays with my hair. "Sadie is the girl you saw me with. She called me up to get a coffee because she was in town, little did I know she wanted me back, she grabbed my hand and, well, I let her. I turned around because I had this bad feeling and I saw you, crushed and mighty disappointed. It made me feel like shit, I left Sadie and went to find you. We got into that argument at my moms work and then we were on good terms, but I still felt like shit for letting Sadie hold my hand. And then you looked so damn good with water in your hair and on your face. I hated seeing that look into your beautiful eyes when your were sad and disappointed in me." He rambles stroking my cheek. I close my eyes and let him finish.
"Vi, you are on my mind like crazy and I went to a bar thinking that would stop it. It didn't of course. I over heard a guy saying he met this hot redhead and how he plans to bang and ditch her. He said her name was Violet Rey, and I lost it. I went over and beat the shit out of him, but being drunk he got a lot more punches than me. I went to the only place I could think of, and that was here. I was praying you would be up and I saw a light coming from your house and I knew it was right to come here. Vi, I think I like you." Sam mumbles together with a yawn and then falls into a deep slumber.
I sit soaking in his story with a grim face as soft snores fall from his lips. I'm not sure if Sam is even conscious to remember correctly what happened, but I've only met one other guy, other than Sam.
Oh Wonder plays softly as I cook breakfast. Last night had my mind into overdrive. Cody seemed so nice and kind. Why would he say something like that? We've only met a couple of times but every time he was so kind and didn't seem like the kind to talk crap and does Sam really like me or was he just too drunk to know what he was saying? Do I like him? Oh who am I kidding I know the answer to that. I'm so focused into my thoughts that I didn't hear someone come up behind me. "You look like shit when you're focused." Sam smirks at me.
"Well you just look like shit so." I giggle. He sends me a mad look but smiles at the end of it. "Do you need any help?" He asks softly. "Are you still drunk?" I ask smirking. "Ha-ha funny." Sam says while grabbing out orange juice and two glasses. He sits them on the counter and fills them. I take the eggs and sit them on the plates with the bacon and pancakes. Sam grabs the glasses and set them by the plates on the island in the kitchen. I sit across from Sam and play Halsey quietly, admiring how flawlessly handsome he looks in the morning light. I look away before he catches me much to my dismay.
"I'm sorry about last night." Sam sighs. "It's okay, I was up anyways." I laugh halfhearted. "Do you remember what happened before you came here last night? " I ask softly. Sam runs his hand through his hair and says "some of it, I know I went to a bar to get my mind off things" Sam coughs while scratching the back of his neck. "Then some guy was talking crap, I don't remember what, and then I came here. That's about it though." Sam says sighing.
Maybe what Sam said to me last night wasn't true maybe he doesn't remember Cody at all, I can only hope, Cody seemed nice. Sam stands up and places his plate and cup into the sink. He turns to me and leans on the counter. "Vi, lets go somewhere." Sam says smiling.

And by somewhere, Sam meant bowling. Just to state this, I am the worst bowler ever, in the history of bowling. Sam does not miss a beat to poke fun at my attempts to at least get a spare. "Shut up!" I whine as Sam laughs while my ball flies right into the gutter. "God damn you are the worst bowler ever!" Sam laughs. I grunt while sitting down waiting for our next game. "109-6." I say slapping my head into my hands. Sam laughs while rubbing my back, que butterflies. "Hey lets go get pizza before you start pouting at how badly you fail at bowling." Sam smirks.
I slap his chest while getting up to go to one of the tables to eat. "Vi!" I hear a boy yell. "Cody." I say back remembering what Sam said to me last night. "How are-" Cody is cut off from Sams roar. "What the hell are you doing here?" He asks while putting his arm around my waist protectively. "Sam." Cody says blankly. "I asked you a question, Stockett." Sam says gripping my waist harder, I place my hand on his and he immediately calms down and sends me a smile. Cody looks at me and Sam nervously.
"We were just about to go so, I will talk to you later Cody." I say while grabbing my bag and Sams hand while pulling him out the door. Sam mumbles a quiet 'no you wont' and I stifle a giggle. We walk down the sidewalk to who knows where, hand in hand. Sam pulls our hands up and smiles while saying "I like the look of me holding your hand." I blush but stay silent. Sam stops us from walking and asks "why so quiet red?" I sigh and reply "we should probably go, it's going to rain soon." As if on que, it starts down pouring.
