"Louis get down here !" My mom screeched, and I threw my phone in the air in fright .
"What the fuck mom ?!" I yelled, before obeying and getting off the couch, walking downstairs.
"I found Lottie laying on the lawn and she's coughing out blood and shaking and I don't know what to do I'm not a doctor but you're studying to be one so maybe you can help?" She begged, pointing at my sister sprawled out on the couch.
"What do you mean coughing out blood? Lottie what happened?" I asked, my anger dissapearing as I took site of my sick sister. Her dyed blonde hair was tangled and had was stuck together with blood, and she was shaking and sweating really badly. I Immediately tried racking my brain to see if I learned about this in medical school.
"I-" She started, before starting to cough again. I ran to the kitchen than and grabbed a cold rag before walking back into the living room.
"Just, don't talk for now. I'm going to try to help you okay? Mom, bring a thermometer, two ibeprofens, a large glass of water, a bucket, and my medical bag from my room please." I asked, slightly smiling at how smart I sounded, before frowning as Lottie once again let out a loud cough. My mom shook her head furiously, a tear escaping her eye before she left the room.
"How did this happen to you? You were fine this morning.." I asked myself, before I got an idea. I can call my professor, he always knows what to do in these situations. For an old medical teacher, he was strictly smart and I learned a lot from him.
I dialed his school number, I had it saved in my phone for emergencys, and listened as it rang, six times before going to voicemail.
"Damn it!" I yelled furiously, before throwing my phone over the couch, hearing it clink on the kitchen floor as it landed.
My mom came into the room than, and I took the items from her. "Okay Lottie I'm going to help you." I said, putting the thermometer onto her for head. As it loaded the temperature, I grabbed my small flashlight and shined it in Lottie's eyes. Her eyes were almost completely red, scarily, and had sprecks of gold swimming in them.
The thermometer beeped, and I leaned in toward her to check the temperature. I read 126°F and as I gasped, she leaned up and coughed, straight in my face.
I hacked, having got someone in my mouth, and started gagging, making use of the bucket mom brought and throwing up in it myself.
"Lou? Lou are you okay?" Mom pleaded, but I didn't listen as all I could feel was a soaring pain spreading through my face.
"Mom.. go please." I begged, hacking again before grabbing the slightly dry rag and wiping the blood off of my face.
"Louis-"
"Mom! Go to the kitchen or something. Now, please." I growled, feeling an unexplainable feeling of pain in my chest.I didn't look as she shuffled to her feet and sprinted up the stairs. "It's. Okay." I said between gasps of air, trying to get my breathing back in pace.
Lottie's body jolted than, and it was as if I came back to reality, and I searched through my bag and grabbed my disinfecting shot. I went to open her shirt, and gasped as I saw a patch of blood there too.
I peeled back the shirt and almost gagged again at the gash. "Is that a tooth?" I asked myself, seeing a small white object indented in her flesh. I shook my head as I started feeling dizzy, seeing the gash of flesh ripped out, leaving a greenish bloodified bite in her stomach. There were lines inside the flesh around the flesh, green and blue, and without thinking I stuck the needle into the flesh and pushed the liquid into it before I heaved again and fell to the floor.
I felt my body convulsing and and I started shaking violently and I felt a deep pain in my chest before I was out.
