chapter 5

Kaelyn pov
"Melanie, are you awake?" even though it's only been 30 minutes I couldn't sleep.
"yeah, I can't sleep."
"well than let's leave."
"what do you mean?"
"let's go for a drive."
"okay."
as we buckled in to Melanie's car, she seemed content.
"where are we going?" I asked
"I have no idea." she replied, but she seemed fine so I didn't worry. from the corner of my eye I saw her pick up her phone and put it on shuffle. Drive by Halsey came on.
"wow, what a perfect song for the perfect situation." I said
"couldn't have said it better, love" and then we drove for a good 30 minutes just swimming in a thought pool.

                                                                            Patrick pov
I can't sleep, I might as well call Pete if he's awake. I picked up my phone and called Pete.
             "hello" said a tired Pete.
"were you asleep, oh crud I'm sorry!"
        "it's fine, why'd you call me, trick"
   "because I can't sleep and I need someone right now."
        "do you want me to come over?" laughed Pete
"could you?"
          "anything for you trick."
then I hung up and waited 5 minutes before Pete pulled up. I opened the door, and hugged him.
    "thank you, Pete"
"like I said anything for you, trick"
       "anyways we probably shouldn't wake up my parents, let's go upstairs."
"okay."
as we walked up into my room Pete sat down on my bed.
       "what's up?"
"nothing, I just thought that if I sat in my thoughts anymore, I could've done something bad."
           "awe I don't want my little patty hurt!" he said as he ruffled my hair.
"don't call me, patty!" as much as I love him he really needs to stop with the pet names.
             "sorry, I'm just trying to help."
"it's fine."
            "well it's like two so let's try to go to sleep, ok?"
"ok." and then we climbed into bed and snuggled close. finally I fell asleep in peace.
