Growing Pains [Finished]

Part 23

Beyoncé walked in the house with Blue after picking her up from her mom's house. Blue was drinking from her sippy cup while walking to the kitchen. Beyoncé was opening mail.

"Messiah!" She yelled.

Beyoncé finished opening her mail.

"Messiah." She yelled again.

Blue dropped her sippy cup and picked it up.

"Blue, where's your brother?" Beyoncé said and Blue looked at her.

Beyoncé looked at her.

"Yeah, I know you came in with me." She said and picked up Blue. "You think he in the studio?"

"Studio." Blue said slowly and nodded while she went back to sipping from her sippy cup.

"Okay, let's go look." Beyoncé said leaving the kitchen and going towards the basement.

Messiah sat on the drums in the studio with headphones on. He was playing to Tye Tributes "If He Did It Before". He wanted to brush up his skills for the upcoming Sunday, he knew the drumming was crazy.

Beyoncé and Blue watched him through the glass play. Beyoncé was proud that he was so good and all because he started so young with Shawn. Over the years besides playing drums and piano Shawn taught Messiah how to play guitar and the bass.

When the song was over Messiah looked up and smiled.

"Did I sound good?" He asked.

Beyoncé went to press the button.

"You did great." She said and sat down.

Messiah nodded and took off the headphones. He came out the booth and sat down in front of his mother. He reached for Blue.

"No, I haven't seen her all day either." Beyoncé said.

Messiah smacked his teeth.

"You getting ready for Sunday?" She asked.

"Yeah, the drumming with that song is tricky so I wanted to make sure I was good and I'm leading a song." He said.

"Really?"

"Ma, I know Shawn told you." Messiah said.

"Well yeah but why didn't you tell me?" She asked.

"I don't know if I sound good." He said. "I haven't sang in awhile."

"Did you record yourself?" She asked.

He nodded and started looking on the computer for the track. He found it and looked back at his mom.

"What? Play it."

"I'll play it if you pass over Blue." He said smiling.

"Oh my god boy, take her." Beyoncé said.

Messiah started the track and got up to pick up Blue. Beyoncé sat and listened to her son sing to the piano playing which she was sure was him.

"You thought I was worth saving. So you came and changed my life."

She loved that song "Worth". She didn't know why Messiah thought he didn't sound good but he did. He hasn't led a song in a while but she assumed Shawn talked him into it. She sang along to it while it played. Messiah walked around with Blue singing to her while the track played. When it was over he sat down with Blue.

"So what did you think?" He asked.

"Eh." Beyoncé said.

"Eh?"
