Two Weeks Later

Beyoncé sat in her car waiting on Messiah. He finally came outside and got in the car.

"Alright, report card. Where it's at?" Beyoncé asked rubbing her hands together smiling.

He gave it to her and sunk down in his seat. Beyoncé opened it and he passed and Beyoncé was so proud.

"Hey! Why you acting like that? You passed you not happy?" She asked.

"Can we just go home?" He asked lowly.

Beyoncé looked at him and took off his hat and threw it in the backseat. She grabbed his chin and saw his busted lip.

"What happened to your face?"

"I got hit with a basketball." He said.

"Oh, you got hit with a basketball? Oh okay." Beyoncé said and got out the car. "Come on, we going to talk to Shawn."

"Nah, we ain't gotta do all that." Messiah said.

Beyoncé walked to his side of the car and opened the door.

"What happened to your face and do not lie to me."

He sighed.

"I got in a fight." He said.

"What you mean you got in a fight? Why?"

"Because somebody said something about your body and I told him to shut up and he wouldn't and we got in a fight."

Beyoncé sighed.

"Baby you can't be fighting. I know people are gonna say things but all I can say is ignore it." Beyoncé said.

"Mama, they be disrespectful."

"I know, is there a way you can tell a teacher?"

"Ma."

"Okay, okay." Beyoncé said. "Did you win?"

Messiah cracked a smile.

"Yeah but he caught me in the lip." He said.

"I see that. No more fighting Messiah." Beyoncé said touching his face. "You got me?"

"I got you." He said.

Beyoncé closed his door and then went to her side and they drove off.

"So ma, my report card pretty good and all." Messiah said.

"Yeah."

"So, which coast did you pick?"

Beyoncé laughed.

"Why can't we just find something down here?" She asked.

"Mama, come on."

"Okay, we'll go to L.A."

"Yes." He said smiling.

Beyoncé smiled while looking over towards him.

They walked in the house and towards the kitchen with Ms. Tina.

"Grandma, I'm going to L.A." Messiah said.

"Yeah, I know." She said and turned towards him. "What the hell happened to your face?"

Messiah looked at his mother.

"Tell her." Beyoncé said sitting down.

"I got in a fight grandma." He said lowly.

"A fight? Why?"

"They was talking about my mama." He said.
