They rode in a carriage to the Demon Castle. The ride was absolutely silent as no one spoke a word. Michael came with them and sat across from Suki and Hire. Suki glanced at Hire and saw that he was staring out the window on his side. As a result she couldn’t see his face. She held back a loud sigh. The wedding was to be held in a week at the Demon Castle. Up until then she had to prepare physically and mentally through classes. Downside: She hated school.
She bit her lip. She was getting married. She just couldn’t wrap her mind around the concept. It was... just too much. She was going to be a queen. And not just any queen. The Demon Queen. That ultimately meant being Ryuu and the Dragon Tribe’s rival. Talk about a boost of pride.
“Hey servant,” Hire called out. Michael turned to him. “Will you be staying with me and Suki in Kanaildia?”
“I can’t say.” Mike replied. “It is up to the Dragon Emperor.” Suki sucked in her breath. So... Michael might not stay with them? How would she manage staying there all alone?!
“Humph. If I had a stay I’d make you leave,” Hire sneered.
“Don’t you dare!” Suki snapped, glaring at him.
Hire’s eyes narrowed. “Talk to your husband with respect.”
Suki’s cold gaze didn’t falter. “I didn’t ask to get married to you!”
Hire chuckled icily. “I didn’t either, but I have to deal with it. As do you.”
Suki tsked and turned away. He was, and apparently always will be, a great big jerk. How could he be so cold? Her hopes plummeted. What am I going to do?
Suki stared up at it, eyes wide. The castle was huge. Period. She heard it ran underground as well. If that was true, it was larger than the Dragon Palace and Kitsune Castle put together. Hire came to stand behind her.
“Like it?”
Suki nodded. “It’s huge!”
“That it is.”
Michael walked up to stand beside Suki as the large double doors swung open. There stood a man of average height with dark red hair. “My lord,” He greeted smoothly, bowing. “Welcome back.”
Hire nodded in acknowledgement. “Hello Yaru.” He pulled Suki to his side, wrapping an arm around her waist. Michael scowled as Suki’s face turned several shades of pink. “This is your new queen, Satsuki.,” Hire introduced.
Yaru bowed again. “My lady.”
Suki blinked then nodded. “Um hey.”
“Yaru, lead the way to our room.” Hire ordered.
Suki looked up at him, eyes wide. “’Our’? As in we’re sharing a room?!”
Hire blinked. “Of course. We’re about to be husband and wife.”
“B-But...” There’s no way... Oh my God are we sharing a bed?!
“Yes we are.”
Suki winced. “Did I say that out loud?”
“Yes you did,” Michael answered.
“Fuck. And I refuse. Get me a separate bed at least!”
Hiretsuna shrugged. “If that’s what you really want. Yaru, get her a separate bed and put it next to mine.”
