Though having had to fight off Ayakashi a few more times, we manage to purify the Everflowing Waterfall. We get back to the chieftain's mansion, and decide to stay here for one more night. The biggest reason we decided to do so is because I am much more exhausted than everyone else.

...Why am I feeling so tired?

I feel fatigue built up all over my body like I've never felt before, so different from how I feel when I have my daily training or use my ninja skills.

It's an important mission, and I'm being nervous... perhaps that's why. Everyone said that I must be tired... I guess I'll be alright as long as I take some rest.

As I wonder about my condition while gazing at the snowy landscape outside the window, I hear some voices calling me from the hallway. I slide the door to open, and find Shiroya and Ran standing there.

"[Y/N], are you alright?" Shiroya asks me.

"Yeah. I'm feeling so much better." I answer.

"That's good news!" Ran says. "Then let's have dinner together!"

"Together?"

"Yeah!" Shiroya says. "We've prepared yours, too, in our room. Come join us!"

"...Alright!"

Ran and Fuyukiku join us at dinner in Kaito and Shiroya's room, and they thank me while we are enjoying a good time together.

"Thank you, [Y/N], for purifying our village's symbol." Ran says to me.

"Thanks to you, the weather has gotten milder." Fuyukiku adds.

"It's not something to be thanked for." I say to them. "It is the purpose of this journey."

"Yeah, but still... you've saved our village." Ran says.

"We couldn't do anything about it." Fuyukiku says. "Thank you again."

"...Oh yeah, speaking of this village's symbol, Mr. Rin." Kaito says.

"Hmm?" Rindoh says.

"You said that you had a good idea before we went to the Everflowing Waterfall. What was that after all?"

"Oh, that?"

"...I am not going to apologize to Kaito." Kikyo says.

"I heard it already, Kikyo, you're really stubborn, aren't ya?" Giving him a wry smile, Rindoh gulps down a cupful of sake. "So Kaito and Kikyo, your problem is that you guys can't approve of each other's abilities, and are having an emotional clash, right?"

"...That is not quite true." Kikyo says.

"...Approve of each other?" Kaito says. "Come on, Mr. Rin. Kikyo's just snarling at me, okay?"

"That's enough, kids. So, I came up with a suggestion. You guys have a one-on-one match."

"What?" Kaito says.

"What are you talking about?" Kikyo says.

"It's no use insisting which one is better. So, why don'tcha have a match to make it clear?"

"Oh, I see!" Shiroya says.

"What? What is it about?" Ran asks.

"Kaito and Kikyo always argue with each other, so Rindoh suggested them to have a match to settle it." I say.

"Hmm... sounds fun."

"I remember having matches over every little thing when we were little." Kiku says.
