Niomi's POV:

After we finish our dinner, we migrate back to the living room, and I'm bored before too long. I sigh as I flop on my back, and Killian just laughs.

"What's wrong now?" he asks, clearly amused. I huff, then turn my head to look at him.

"I'm boooored..." I trail, and he shrugs.

"Well, what do you want to do?"

"I don't know. Something fun." I say, then an idea pops into my head.

"Let's go ice skating! You'll love it!' I exclaim, then I jump up and grab my coat from the back of the armchair. I grab his hand and basically drag him down the hall to the elevator.

~2 Hours Later~

"Okay, so maybe not my best idea, but hey, we had fun, right?" I say, helping the hobbling Killian down the hallway.

"Well, at least we tried. Also, let's never do that again." He retorts, and I laugh a little.

"Hey, I was fine. You just needed to....not do it in the first place. Maybe next time you can just watch." I say, and he just nods.

We eventually get inside my apartment, and I prop Killian up on the couch, where he closes his eyes, obviously exhausted from the craziness that is me.

"Do you just wanna rest or do you want something..." I lead off, but he shakes his head no.

"I'll just...let you rest then." I say, then I walk to my room.

After flipping through a random magazine, I walk into my closet, just kind of looking for something to wear for a party coming up. It's for one of our employees, who's having a baby in about 4 months. The party is her baby shower, and I already have her gift wrapped and ready to go.

Since the party is in a couple days, I should find something nice, but nothing for the gender of the baby. She's revealing at the party, so no one is supposed to pick sides, but I'm sure some people have their theories....

I'm combing through the numerous dresses I already have, and I find a pretty white one. Actually, I forgot where I bought this one, but it is pretty... I hold it up in front of me before the mirror, and it looks nice, so I take it out of the closet with me and set it on the rocking chair by the door.

"I like the dress."

I jump, startled by Killian, who's standing in the doorway.

"Don't do that!" I say, putting a hand over my heart. "I almost died!"

"Sorry." He says with a grin. I just roll my eyes.

"Hey, I have a very important party to go to in this dress, and I like it, so there." I say, crossing my arms. He laughs again.

"Well, maybe you need to be a better tour guide to me, as you've put it." he retorts, and I fake-gasp.

"I have been a very generous tour guide, for your information. I mean, I'm letting you stay at my house, so I think I'm being plenty kind." I playfully snap, and he shakes his head.

"If you say so."

I grunt, then walk past him, out of my room.

"Wait, what kind of party is it that you're going too, anyway?" Killian asks a few minutes later when we're in the kitchen, making dinner. I sigh and roll my eyes.

"It's just a baby shower." I state, showing clear annoyance in my voice.

"What do you do at a "baby shower"? Please tell me you don't actually try to bathe a infant..." He leads off, looking at me.

I gasp and choke back a laugh.

"No! We don't try to give a newborn a bath! It's just a party for the mother, so she can get some presents that the new baby will use. In no way do we shower a real baby." I say, smiling as I stir the pot of rice on the stove. I hear Killian let out a sigh of relief, and I think I had one too.

"So, do I get to go with you to this party?" he asks, quirking an eyebrow in my direction.

"Hmm, I haven't decided yet. If you want to, we'll have to get you some more appropriate clothes, since you don't have anything better than some jeans and t-shirts." I say, turning off the burner under the rice.

After I drain the water out of the pot, I set it back on the stove top cool for a while. I turn around and lean against one of the counters, facing Killian.

"Also, people would want to know stuff about you. Where you're from, how long you're here, that kind of thing. If you come up with a believable backstory, I might let you accompany me. Just let me know if you have anything." I say, turning back to the stove.

He finishes chopping the peppers, then takes a step towards the stove.

"Now, I would also have to come up with a reason as to why I'm at this party, because I'm sure you're friend doesn't want strangers there....." He trails, silently asking me to finish the thought.

"Well, you could pose as a family member of mine that's in town. I've used that one with Hazel before." I say, and her name makes me inwardly cringe. Killian notices, and his face softens.

"I'm sorry, but we look nothing like family." He says after a moment, gesturing between us. I let out a laugh, and he smiles.

"Well, it's true! We couldn't look more different." He adds, and I do notice how weird it is for him to be compared to me. I have my platinum blonde hair, while his is almost black, and my skin is almost as snowy as my hair, while his is more tan, darker from his time outside. I shrug at him.

"Okay, fine. I know what you want, and I'm not going with that. I may like you, but not that far." I say, stirring the vegetables around in the saute pan. He groans, and I smile to myself.

"Please, anything else is really awkward. I don't want to be introduced as your cousin, your friend, your brother's friend's roommate, no, you know why." he says, throwing more vegetables into the pan.

I sigh loudly, and he turns to me with a pouty face.

"Please?" Is all he says, and I take a one hundred and eighty degree turn to face him.

"Ugh, fine." I spit. His face lights up.

"Really?" He asks in disbelieve.

"Yeah, but don't give me a reason to change my mind."
