It was finally summer after senior year. Victoria couldn't wait to take a break from all the
school work, drama, and frustrating students. But the real reason for her anticipation is that
she'll be spending her whole summer with her bestfriend, since they will be working together for
their summer job. She had alot of friends but she considers Natalie as more than her sister. She has lived with her aunt since her family passed away in an accident. Most of the time, her aunt had to leave for work so she'd always have Natalie over at their
place and vice-versa. Their friendship has blossomed throughout the years and they have shared pretty much all their happiness and pain together. They simply understoond each other like no one can, despite their differences. One of this is Natalie being more popular with the boys, whereas Victoria has never had a boyfriend. She was friendly enough but she never wanted to get to know better anyone in particular, yet.
Besides, she believed that there was no point since they pretty much have no control on who they'll eventually end up with. She knew that time will come sooner than she wanted, as she will be turning eighteen in less than a week. When a wolf turns eighteen, that's the time when he or she realizes who their true mate is. There will be this undeniably strong pull between two mates that they will not be able to help.
"Are you ready?" Victoria knew exactly what Natalie was referring to with her question. Natalie
was younger by a month so Victoria would be the first between them to find her mate. But it
seemed that it was her bestfriend who was more excited.
"I don't really have much of a choice." Victoria heaved a sigh. She didn't think she was ready
to be tied down to one person forever. Let alone some guy that she probably wouldn't even know at all.
"Uhm, maybe it'll all turn out alright. Anyway, let's grab something to eat first before we head home." Natalie gave her friend a smile and climed on the driver's seat of her car. Her black Ford pick-up had been a gift of her parents and had insisted on Victoria that she be the one to drive them to school everyday. It also helped that they lived relatively near each other. They drove to their favorite cafe and parked their car.
As they walked in, the boys inside the place couldn't help but notice the two attractive girls that just went in. Natalie gave them a smile and sauntered to the counter to give her order. In the meantime, Victoria just kept her gaze down and tried not to look at any guy.
"I see you've decided not to pay attention again to anyone. These guys can't seem to help look at you Tori." Natalie whispered to her friend. It was true, both humans and other wolves in the cafe were not oblivious to the two friends' beauty.
"Just hurry with our order. And they were looking at you, not me."
As soon as they got their food, the walked back outside to the car. At the same time, a silver Corvette zoomed to park on the space beside theirs. The car doors opened and two guys stepped out followed by two more from the next car. They all exuded an appeal that would cause girls to swoon -- all had a model physique and were atleast six feet tall. But one of them stood out. His gaze swept over at the two girls as he put his car keys in his pocket. He gave them a stoic glance before he started walking inside the cafe with his friends.
As soon as Victoria and Natalie got in the car, Natalie couldn't contain her excitement, "Oh my goodness! Did you see him? That guy is beyond gorgeous!!!"
"They all looked the same to me." Victoria gave a shrug. She did notice the guy. He was practically beside her when he stepped out of his car. Ofcourse, she didn't show any reaction that she had seen the guy. He is hot. What? Did I say that? No way.
"I so wanna know who he is and meet him!" Natalie exclaimed as she started the car. For the entire ride home, Natalie came up with her plans on how to get to know the guy. She decided she'd go back to the cafe tomorrow and hoped that she'd bump into him.
The next day, Natalie called Victoria to ask her to come and go to the cafe. They went and even stayed there for an hour but the guy nor his friends didn't show up. They did this for the next days. Finally a day before her birthday, Victoria decided that she no longer wanted to take part of her friend's plan. "Nat, maybe you'll meet him somewhere else. We've been spending way too much time in that cafe. Not that I mind hanging out with you. But all you talk about is what you'll say to him."
"I knowww! But he's like the most handsome guy I have ever met!" Natalie gushed. "You shouldv'e looked at him and then you'd understand what I mean."
"Actually, I did see how he looked. I agree." Victoria admitted. There was no point in hiding such a fact. It's not like she was attracted to him.
"See?! Haha! Oh but enough of him! It will be your birthday party tomorrow. Want me to go to your place early and help you fix up?
"Ofcourse! I don't plan on going to the parlor anyway. I'll definitely need your help." WIth that, Natalie forgot about the guy as she promised Victoria to be at her house at three in the afternoon to help her get ready.
Victoria was about to sleep but she couldn't. She wished that she didn't have to be pressured to meet her mate soon. I wonder who he'll be.
