After Derrek left, Victoria went up to her room to tidy up her things and also choose what to wear. She had no idea what time he'll be passing for her or where they were going. She was rummaging in her closet when her phone rang.
"Yes?" She balanced the phone between her ear and shoulder as she walked back to the rack.
"Tori! It seems like I haven't spoken to you in ages!"
"Uh technically we were together this morning. Besides, you're too busy with Levi."
"Well, you've also been with Derrek the whole day so we're even! Anyway, I'll be seeing you tonight right?"
"Wait, what is happening tonight? Is this a pack thing?"
"Well, Levi told me that Derrek and some members of his pack are hanging out tonight but I'm not sure exactly where."
"Oh...so we're hanging out with their pack?" Victoria wasn't too keen on the idea considering that his pack didn't know they were mates until now. If Derrek brings her with him there, it wouldn't take long for them to figure out she's either his new girl or his mate. Technically, she was both. Although, she still wasn't sure she wanted his pack to know.
"Tori, do you still not want Derrek as your mate?"
"It's not that. I actually like him you know..." It was the first time Victoria had admitted out loud that she did have feelings for Derrek. Not that it wasn't obvious, Victoria thought to herself.
"Ohmygosh!!!" Natalie screamed over the phone. Victoria could practically hear her bed creaking from the other end of the line as Natalie jumped up and down.
"But you cannot tell him that!"
"Whaaaat??? Fine. He probably knows anyway." Natalie smiled to herself. It was about time Victoria stopped hiding behind her fears. She wanted her bestfriend to finally let herself love and be loved by someone who obviously felt that way for her. For a superior and powerful Alpha, Derrek actually and genuinely cared for Tori and Natalie could feel that when she sees him with her. "Well, I gotta go Tori. See you later!"

It was quarter to seven o'clock when the doorbell rang making Victoria jump from the couch. She decided to wait for Derrek downstairs, curled up on the sofa and soon got engrossed in the book she was reading. Walking to open the door, she smoothed down her gray dress. The night was chilly and she decided to put on black knee-high stockings and a pair of black uggs. Her chestnut hair was parted on the side and tumbled over her shoulders.
"Hi."
"Hi."
Both greeted in unison as Victoria opened the door causing them to both smile sheepishly. Derrek had one hand stuffed in his baseball jacket's pocket as he brushed his hair from his forehead with the other hand.
"Ready to go?"
"Yeah. Let me just grab my coat." Victoria moved to hastily pull her olive green hooded coat from the rack near the door and put it on. She lifted her hair from under the coat and ran her fingers roughly through it. All the while, Derrek just stood unmoving at the doorway staring at her the entire time. Victoria looked up to see his gaze at her and awkwardly walked back to him to let him know she was ready. Derrek just smiled at her, waited for her to lock the door and walked to open the passenger's door for her. He walked to his side and got behind the wheel. Backing out of the driveway, Derrek placed a hand on the Victoria's seat as he looked manuevered the car making her all too conscious with his nearness. Derrek let out a chuckle as if sensing her feeling and kept a smug look.
"So...what does your pack think since you're bringing me along?" Victoria glanced at him as she asked.
"They can think whatever they want. I haven't told them if that's what you're worrying about."
