Derrek got back at their house at 2:00am and went to grab a drink in the kitchen. He was leaning on the counter thinking about Victoria and wondering her reason for still not accepting their destiny as mates. He knew that she was just as attracted to him as he was to her. Hell, it was more than an attraction.
"Having problems, son?" His dad asked as he walked to the fridge.
"Hey dad, yeah but it's okay."
"Is this about the pack?" Derrek's dad looked up from the fridge and looked intently at him. "Or is this about a certain girl I've been hearing about?"
"Actually dad, about Victoria..."
"Yes, that's the name I heard. I thought you were with Lily?"
"No. I was never with her. I'm not with her. Victoria is--"
"Your mate." His dad answered simply.
"Yes." Derrek looked at his father and tried to read his expression. "Wait. You knew?" He asked when he saw his dad smile.
"Your reaction explained it when Levi mentioned her name the other day. So, have you told the pack?"
"Not yet. She's not ready. I don't want to force her."
"Well, you're the Alpha so it's your decision."
"I know dad. I'll tell the pack when the time's right."
"Okay. But how are you going to keep her off the other males?"
"She's mine." Derrek let out a loud growl causing his father to laugh.
"We can't wait to meet her." His dad gave a smile and patted his back before going back to his room. For a few minutes, Derrek just stayed in the kitchen and thought about what his dad said. He had to tell his pack soon. Even more so, he had to keep her away from the other males.

Derrek was still in bed when someone knocked on his door. He glanced up the clock beside his bed and saw it was 8:00am. With a groan, he rubbed his eyes and walked to open his door. Levi was grinning by the doorway.
"Hey man, why did you wake me up?"
"You told me you had to talk to me this morning." Levi placed his hands in his pockets and shrugged.
"Oh yeah. What the hell was that yesterday Levi?" Derrek asked and gave his friend a murderous look?
"Huh? What did I do?"
"Stay away from Victoria. You and the other guys/"
"Whoa! I was just talking to her Derrek. I treat her like a sister." Levi laughed at Derrek's jealousy. Afterall, it wasn't everyday that the Alpha of the pack had anything to be jealous about.
"Shut up. Just make sure no guy goes near her." With that Derrek closed his door to head to his bathroom to shower and change. After a few minutes, he went downstairs to Levi who was happily eating.
"Hey honey, have some breakfast first." Derrek's mom gave his son a warm smile and pointed to a seat.
"Thanks mom." Derrek grabbed a toast and loaded his plate with food.
"Don't forget the dance next week. Are you boys bringing dates?" Derrek's mom asked curiosly. She saw them way too often with different girls and never failed to show her disapproval.
"Err...we're not sure mom."
"Nonsense. I planned this event months ago and I promised the committee the Alpha would attend."
