Everything became a drunken blur after that. Werewolves don't get drunk right away but with the number of bottles thay had that night, Victoria knew thry would have to atleast be more than tipsy. Their human friends were beyond disaster as they slumped on the couches.
"Did you have fun Tori?" Natalie slurred beside her friend. It was 4:00am and the only ones who could stay up were the werewolves among the group.
"Haha yeah. But we have a problem, how are we bringing everyone home?"
"Don't worry about that. We got that covered. We'll be bringing them all home." John was a werewolf and one of their bestfriends. He and the other guys helped bring the girls and brought them to their cars. When he came back, he walked over to Natalie and Victoria. "Let's go."
"It's okay. Me and Tori will stay a bit and then we'll head home." John was about to argue but Nat gave him a look that meant she wanted to talk to Tori.
"Okay...reach us if you need anything." John hugged both girls and pat Tori's head. "Happy birthday Tori."
Nat and Tori stayed seated for a few minutes before Tori looked at her friend and asked, "What's the plan? I'm kind of tired and tipsy, you know." Natalie laughed as she clinked two shot glasses filled with tequila. Tori eyed her warily and shook her head.
"Please??? Last shot Tori." Nat gave her friend an innocent look. WIth a sigh of defeat, Tori gulped down the drink.
"Can we join you guys?" A voice asked. Both girls looked up to see Derrek and his friends standing infront of their table. Natalie couldn't believe it was the same group of guys they saw. Upon closer look, she realized that it was not only the Alpha who was good looking but every guy in their group.
"Actually we were about to..."
"Sure! I'm Natalie and this is my friend Victoria." Nat cut-off her friend and motioned for the group to sit. There were four guys and a girl in the group.
"I'm Derrek, alpha of the Durus pack. Levi, my beta. James. Eric. Lily." Natalie and Victoria gave a small almost not audible gasp. The Durus pack was the largest and most respected pack. But they also had a reputation of being the most viscious and harshest. Although at that time, the guys with the exception of Derrek looked anything but those descriptions, instead they were all charming. Derrek gave Victoria a glance trying to read her thoughts but she looked away.
"We're from the Solis pack." Natalie answered knowing that their packs have never had a fight before so they should be safe.
"Let's have one last bottle. We heard, it's your friend's birthday." Levi looked from Natalie to Victoria but his gaze drifted back to Natalie. Before Victoria could react, Natalie happily accepted for them. "We actually brought a harder drink, as the drinks here don't really have that much effect right?"
Levi brought out a green bottle and started pouring in shot glasses for everyone. Soon, everyone started to get to know each other as they took shot after shot. Victoria had to admit that the drink was the strongest she's ever had and wasn't quite sure she could remain sober for long. In a matter of minutes even the guys except Derrek could feel the kick of the alcohol, as well.
"I can't anymore. I think we have to go." Victoria declined the shot offered by Eric and glanced at Natalie. She was having a hard time collecting her thoughts and could hardly keep herself from slurring the words
"Sorry guys, Tori's right. We have to get home soon." Natalie agreed. She didn't actually have the energy to stand up anymore. "Thank you for hanging out with us and for the drink."
"Thanks again." Victoria smiled at everyone and started to stand up with Natalie.
"Hey it was our pleasure. We had a great time." James answered and smiled back.
"Are you sure you'll be able to drive back?" Levi looked at Natalie who was trying hard to keep her balance. Derrek looked at Levi sending a question on why he was so concerned. Levi shrugged.
"Yeah, we're..." Natalie was about to answer 'fine' when she slipped and knocked Victoria to the side. Victoria tried to grab the edge of the table but still hit something hard on her side. That's when she felt the sparks. She didn't realize that she hadn't moved, as she seemed frozen in that moment. Wait, those couldn't have been sparks. A low growl emitted from where Victoria laid sprawled on her side.
It's her.
As soon as the moment happened that Victoria was about to hit him, he had already anticipated the fall. He was surprised with the sparks that went through him. But that didn't mean he wasn't immensely pleased.
"Sorry." Victoria whispered as she was too shocked and embarrassed. She realized she was still in her position and she started to get up.
"It's fine." Derrek held her closer not allowing her to be able to move to stand up. They seemed to have forgotten their friends who were around them looking but not really knowing what was happening.
"Let me up." Victoria slightly struggled and Derrek smiled as he held her waist but let her stand up. He followed suit and stood beside her, his hands still on her.
"I'll take them home." Derrek told his friends as he picked up Natalie and put an arm around her shoulder, a brotherly act. He then grabbed Victoria's hand, slipped he hand around her waist and pulled her to his left side. His friends didn't have time to react and were about to follow him when Levi spoke up, "Let him be. I'll help him and will see you all home."
Levi followed the three and removed Natalie from Derrek to bring her to his car. They placed Natalie on the backseat as Derrek opened the passenger door to bring Victoria in. Derrek got in his car and started it.
"Thanks Levi. Later." With that Derrek drove his car put of the parking and left Levi to take care of bringing the girls' car. As soon as Victoria felt the car move she struggled to to sober up and fought the gagging feeling. She wanted to force the alcohol to leave her system. More importantly she did not want her mate to take advantage of her weakness just now and tried to stop him.
"Wait. I have to bring home Nat's car. You can take her home and I'll follow--"
"My friend will take care of that babe." He gave her a smirk. "Just give the directions."
Seeing it was futile to even argue, Victoria gave him the directions and soon they were pulling at Natalie's driveway. Derrek was about to carry Natalie but stopped and looked at Victoria.
"What are you waiting for? We have to bring her in."
"Just thought you might be jealous."
"Please." Victoria rolled her eyes. Derrek chuckled as he carried Natalie and followed Victoria inside. They slipped quietly in Natalie's room and laid her on her bed. As soon as they did that, they went back to the car and Victoria gave the number of her house that was in the same street.
As they neared her driveway, Derrek glanced at her and saw her fidgeting with her hands. He stopped the car infront of her house and leaned over and grabbed one of hands. "Want me to bring you in?"
"Wh-a-at? No." Victoria tried to pull her hand back but Derrek had a firm grip on it. "Can you stop doing that? I don't recall giving you permission."
"Didn't ask for one babe." Derrek leaned in near to her ear. "Nothing you can really do about this, right?" Victoria pushed him away thinking he was going to kiss her. Derrek laughed and shook his head. He got out of the car and opened her door. Victoria hurriedly stepped out of the car and got her key to open the door. As soon as she opened the door, a hand swiftly closed it back. She turned around fuming to an amused Derrek. Derrek raised his other hand and placed it near her head.
"You do know you can't run away."
