"Pete I can explain I..." Brendon's lips stop as he's at a lack for words. His brain searches for an excuse for what just happened, but there is no denying what Pete just saw. He could take the blame, say he forced himself on Ryan or that it was his idea but he knows better than that. Pete wasn't stupid. He saw the way Ryan's face flushed, heard the moans pour from his plump lips, knew it was consensual. He knew what he saw, and what he had seen was his best friend making out with another guy.

"You....?" Pete raises a brow at Brendon, a smug expression playing his lips. "Really Brendon, if you're going to fool around and not get caught, you've really got to think of better excuses... And maybe lock doors. And maybe, just maybe, don't make it all so obvious."

"What... No... I..." Brendon was confused. Shouldn't Pete be telling at him right now or kicking him out or at least be awkwardly silent? Why was he giving Brendon advice on how to get away with hooking up with Ryan?

"Do you think I'm dumb, Brendon?" Pete chuckles, leaning against the wall that Ryan's body just occupied. "You two practically drool over each other on stage. And the way your eyes flare with jealousy when you see him with Helena... You're not exactly the sneakiness person in the world. But I get it. Pat and I were like that too."

And then it all hits Brendon at once. Patrick and Pete have always had a rumored romance, but then Patrick got married and the rumors kind of fizzled out. They both had kids with gorgeous women, there was no way they could be together too, could they? "You and Patrick?" Brendon breaths. It makes sense. Sometimes Bren watches Patrick giving Pete soft smiles from far away, or sly glares when Pete yells for everyone to do another round of shots. At first Brendon thought it was brotherly, but it's clear now that it wasn't even close to that.

"Yeah. Me and Patrick. But we don't exactly have time to talk about that..." Pete says with a soft chuckle.

"What do you mean?"

Pete rolls his eyes at Brendon's ignorance. "The guy you love just ran out of here nearly in tears... This is the part where you run after him..."

"I don't love Ryan. I don't do love." Pete narrows his eyes at Brendon and then shakes his head with a soft chuckle. He nods towards the door and stays silent, just letting a smirk grace his lips. After a second of thinking, Brendon's out the door in a full sprint. Pete was stupid. He wasn't going after Ryan because he loved him or anything like that. He was going after him because he didn't want another man to cry. Yeah... That was why he was running.

He reaches Ryan's door in mere seconds and reaches for the door, swinging it open quickly. "Ryan i...."
Brendon's breath hitches at the sight in front of him. Helena is there, on her knees in front of a half naked Ryan, who's hand are knitted into the brunette a hair. The moment Ryan's eyes lick on Brendon's he pulls away and quickly tug up his pants.

"Brendon i...." He starts, face flushed as he looks the now teary eyed man in the eyes.

"Sorry for interrupting. I'll knock next time." Brendon says cooly, sucking in a breath before closing the door.

He was surprised by the tear trickling down his cheek. He wasn't in love with Ryan, not did he even care about the boy. He didn't get close to people like that and Ryan was no exception. Plus, Helena was Ryan's girlfriend. She had more of a right to be on her knees for him than anyone else did. This was what Brendon signed up for, so why was he so upset about it?

His legs moved before his brain had time to think. People pushed past him as he wiped his tears away with his sleeve. Everything was such a blur until he found himself knocking on a big wooden door with a golden trimmed frame.

When it swung open, his lips turned up quickly into the biggest, fakest smile he could muster up. "Sarah. Hey..." He breaths.
