I panicked as I saw Fly's silhouette become smaller and smaller. I could practically hear the bubbling lake of lava covering the floor of the ravine as I plummeted into the depths of the earth. Adrenaline rushed through my veins. I felt as if I'd already hit the ground. My brain had refused to believe that I was falling and there was nothing I could do to stop it. My heart started to race when I finally accepted reality.

I am going to die.

Instinct! Use to your instinct!

Power rushed through me and my head started to buzz. I screamed in terror and closed my eyes.

Suddenly I was weightless. I was no longer falling, but floating. My eyes opened. I panicked a little when I saw my surroundings. A black void stretched out and around me. Purple particles, almost like snowflakes, swirled around me. They prickled my skin as they touched me and fizzled to nothingness upon impact. As they started to swirl faster they created somewhat of a portal. The bright, glowing, purple portal swirled around, pulling me towards it.

I tried to move away by waving my arms and legs, but there was no way for me to move in the weightless void. Nothing for me to grab or push off of. With nothing to help me, I was sucked into the vortex.

I'm dead. That's the only explanation. I thought. There's no way that I could've survived.

I opened my eyes. My muscles tensed and my eyes widened. I was standing across from Fly on the other side of the ravine. He stood crouching at the edge of the broken bridge staring up at me in astonishment. His mouth gaped open and he trembled.

How did I-?

The young boy slowly stood up, keeping his hand low as he tried to balance himself. I just stood staring at him in awe of what had just happened.

Did I just...teleport?!

Fly jumped over the gap in the bridge and quickly made his way over to me. His fists were tight balls and his posture made him seem angry, however, he looked more distressed than upset.

"How did you do that?!" Fly spoke loudly as he approached me.

I remained silent for a few moments, trying to figure out what had just happened. The sound of the waterfall near the bridge resounded in my head like white noise, clearing my mind.

Fly's dark eyebrows scrunched up in the middle of his forehead. The frustrated look on his face was hiding the fear that he desperately tried not to show.

"Hey!" he poked me sharply in the middle of my chest causing me to flinch. "I asked you a question! How did you do that?!"

I shrank away from him as his aggression showed through. His soft, youthful face was replaced by a furrowed brow and stormy eyes. This was a side of him that I had never seen and -quite frankly- didn't want to see.

"I-I..." I gulped as I tried to think of how I had moved from the bottom of the ravine -midair, may I add- to the other side of the chasm, unharmed and without any object or machinery to help me.

No. Why should I be afraid of him? I don't know what happened! How can I tell him what I don't know?!

"How should I know?!" I yelled at him.
