Everything is quiet. The sky has darkened as night time falls over the city of bustling Hong Kong, light pollution illuminating the area and blocking the view of the stars above. Those who didn't listen to the warning, wait patiently for the "End of the World". All of a sudden, through the polluted sky, a spiral of light comes forth from the hidden sun that is lighting up the other half of the world. Even though the sun shines in the Western Hemisphere, they can see it too, even through the suns shining beams.
A person notices and points towards the spiraling light rays coming towards the Earth which causes others to look, creating a domino effect until the entire city notices and stares up at the sky. This "domino effect" occurs all over the world as sleepless people stare up in wonder and fear. The entire, conscious world notices the strange events occurring in the sky.
The spiraling becomes bigger and bigger, stretching its long tentacle-like tendrils out toward the Earth, grasping it in a beautiful outstretched palm.
People start to scream. Perhaps, the prophecy had been true?
People take their phones and cameras out, videoing the fantastic spectacle, posting the pictures afterword. The solar storm's tendrils move slowly like an anemone, waiting for a chance to penetrate the bubble that protects our earth known as our atmosphere as well as the magnetic field. The people down below watch the skies as the atmosphere starts to ripple like an unstable bubble or heat radiating off of a hot surface. Suddenly, the atmosphere breaks similar to a bubble in slow motion. It separates, cutting the magnetic field in half. Instantly, the solar winds shoot through the opening and into what was once the Earth's atmosphere, grasping the Earth in its firm grip. One by one, the lights on the planet blacken, darken, go out, until there is no electricity, or signs of energy that relates with electrodes, left. Cries from around the world shoot out into the open sky, the atmosphere at its thinnest. The world's axis straightens.
Those who survived the weak atmosphere begin to notice that auroras surround them, like timid clouds of energy. The beautiful greens, purples, violets and yellows intertwine with people's hair and fingers. The auroras mix and flow like water, entering peoples homes and buildings, not hurting anyone. Similar to fairies moving like jellyfish. They're incredible and inspiring, so close that one can touch them yet not feel them.
What was once the northern lights now fill the entire sky, mingling, exchanging and swirling with the solar storm.
But, radiation begins to take its toll on the people that did not listen to the warning. As people run to get to shelter or are busy filming, liquid drips upon their faces, and they notice that their noses start to trickle red. Their mouths, gums and rectum begin to bleed. As they fall and trip from scurrying towards safety- a safety that does not exist, they bruise easily and bleed eternally. Some stop to vomit up blood. To those who haven't died from lack of blood, lack of atmosphere, or the radiation, start to experience burning on their skin. Their skin blisters and turns red with open sores as they let out guttural cries of pain. Then, the skin starts to fluff off and blow into the wind like ash or sand.
By now, people experience fatigue as the radiation continues to bombard them, the symptoms similar to a bad flu. People start to faint, and then die as their last breaths leave their body.
The solar storm increases at an intense speed. Objects begin to burn as destruction of the power lines and electronics commence. Bursting of sparks and propane tanks create fire. The bodies and souls of the dead burn.
