Is the world doomed to live forever in a burnt darkness? No! For not to soon, the sun rises over the curve of the Earth and, once again, a new day has begun.
First, the clouds that have blanketed the Earth like a child shielding himself under the blankets from monsters under the bed, begin to break and bit by bit, sunlight pours through like a magnificent spot-light upon a movie star. All over the world, sunbeams caress the earth, appearing like ethereal portals. The sunlight and warmth was glorious and heart wrenching, the golden white light age defying.
Second, the waters upon the Earth began to lower, bringing rise to knew continents, larger and more equal in size than before. With the lowering of sea levels, minerals and decaying matter stay behind to feed the Mycelium, slime molds, and bacteria.
Third, the bacteria, rotting wood and seaweed, charred bodies, minerals and coral, fertilize the soil, causing the seedlings from the fire to grow and shoot up. Fireweed grows in abundance as great sycamores strive to grow. As the trees and plants grow, they begin to flower and with the flowers come the bees and with the bees, come other insects, many changed from mutation. And so, pollination begins. The large green trees with honey brown trunks glow from sunbeams inside, the meadows with white, pink, and yellow flowers and green grasses, buzz with bees and insects.
Fourth, the sky is clear of all smoke, thick clouds, and solar storm residue. The skies show the brilliant galaxy up above, showcasing their beautiful diamond stars and gemstone planets. The atmosphere has never been so clear and the air has never smelled so fresh. The wind has a terrific bite and everything smells of morning dew. All appears right in the world.
Fifth, offshore, whales spout water from their blowholes and sing their beautiful songs to each other, joining the bugs on land. Fish thrive as well, their schools of fish vibrant, the color mutations from the radiation a beautiful sight. Dolphins jump in the waves, manatees and seals swim in the water, and the fancy walrus brandishes his tusks with another for a females heart. Jellyfish swim beautiful through the water, creating beauty where ever they go. They know they'd never leave. Just like the whales, they were one of the first ones here and are survivors. All of a sudden, flocks upon of birds come forth, their calls emanating throughout the world. Millions fill the sky as the search for a place to stay. The songs of the whales, the dolphins chatter, the barks of the seals, the calls and songs of the birds, and the buzz and hum of the insects creates a glorious chorus of rebirth.
Sixth, from inside the surviving buildings, the hidden rock crevices, caves, and hollow chard trees comes forth the mammals. Four legged herd animals come running forth from their hiding places among the forgotten buildings followed by the carnivores that had hidden in caves, then the small mutant-rodent-like animals that had hidden in logs and small rock crevices or underground. Tusked aardvarks and shrews scurry forth, Xenarthras, like anteaters and sloths, climb out of their chard logs, carnivores with striped fur, elongated teeth, and bigger eyes chase the larger herd animals, and the new mutant rodents scramble around the bush.
Lastly, it was time for human beings to wake up. Slowly but surely, the drugs wear off and people begin to awaken. Some stay inside, unsure of whether to go out or not. Others throw precaution to the wind, opening their bunker doors, impatient.
