Everything is dark. Why is it all dark? I stumble through the darkness, trying to find a way out, I can feel panic rising. Why can't I see?

"Hello? Please, is someone there?" I yell but get no response. I start to search frantically for any source of light.

A door opens not far from where I was. "Rouge! Stop making that racquet! Come here, I need to talk to you!" A female voice called. I know this voice, why do I recognize this voice, where am I, I don't remember anything.

I stumble towards the open door, towards the light, were I find a very tall woman, she looks like my mother.

"Mommy!" I yell happily, but my voice wasn't my voice, it sounded like that of a child. Am I dreaming? Was all that had happened a dream? What's going on? I look at my hands and see that I am eight years old again.

As I get through the door and my mother walks closer to me and picks me up, tying my hands together tightly. "Ah! Mommy it hurts!" I call out in pain. She ignores my protests and flips me upside doe and ties my ankles together. I cry out again in pain, tears streaming down my face. She throws me in a suitcase, just big enough for me to fit in, closing it before I could wiggle out or do anything.

I am crammed up in the bag for a long time, maybe hours, maybe longer. All I know was that at first nothing happened, just banging sounds around me. Then I was picked up and thrown onto something. It started to move, a carriage. I was being jostled around harshly.

Finally, I am dropped and hit what I think to be the ground. The bag is opened and I am pulled out roughly, to be greeted by night. My mother looks at me, hatred and revulsion clear in her eyes.

"You are going to walk down this alley, count to 1000 when you come out I will be gone. Go home if you wish, but it will be empty, I will not be there. You will never see me again." She puts me down gets the rope off my ankles, so I can walk. She shoves me into the alley for me to start walking. I hoped she was just teasing me.

I get into the end off the alley and sit down, starting to count. When I get too what I think to be the right number the sun was rising and I was panicking, because I thought she would have come for me by now. I run out of the alley to find a empty street.

I decide she must have gone home because she got tired of waiting for me, not wanting to believe the truth. I start walking home, walking to a whole other town.

. . .

I wake with a jolt. It's dark and for a second I don't know where I am. Then I remember and decide to go for a walk around the mansion, to explore my new home.

I had been walking for a while, I feel another presence. "Miss Rouge, what are you doing out of bed?" Sebastian comes into view, he try's to hard to scare people, it's kind of funny.

"I couldn't sleep, so I decided to get to know the place I will be working in and around, so I don't fall behind in work, trying to figure where things are." I say going to open a door to see what is inside.

Sebastian stops me before the door could even be an inch open. "That is the young masters room. You may only enter when you are invited or told." He speaks quietly, closing the door. I shrug and walk away to continue my search.

***time skip***

By the time the sun was up, I got to know the entire mansion. I even made myself a nice meal out of a family of gofers that Sebastian had told me about as he "escorted" me through the garden and mazes.

"Miss Rouge, would you mind making the earls breakfast? I have other duties to attend to and our cook is quite incompetent when it comes to cooking." Sebastian gives me a closed eyed smile as I let out a belch.
