It was the Koopa Kingdom many years after King Bowser and Bowser Jr died and after they had the Koopalings now adults removed from the kingdom the son of Bowser Jr took the throne. As for the Koopalings were removed from the kingdom along with their mates and children and they one day they will have their revenge. Ludwig Von Koopa's daughter Kookelle was the oldest child and was meant to take the throne to become Koopa Princess, but they can't take the throne away from him now they must wait. For the right time.

"Promise me my daughter, that you will help me and our family reclaim what is rightfully ours." Ludwig asked his daughter as he prepared to overthrow the boy king.
"I promise you father I will take my place as the Princess of Koopa Country." Kookelle said. The guards shackle them and put hoods over them.
"Girl, get moving," one guard said.
Kookelle nods and they walk into the streets of the kingdom. With hoods covering their faces they head for their new home as other children watched the guards throw their parents to the ground if they refused to move.
'Oh believe me, this where "All hail the boy king" comes to an end.' Kookelle thought to herself.
