Endangered

Chapter 6

I woke in bed beside Carson and figured I could get something to eat. I walked into the kitchen and made me a bowl of cereal. About five minutes after I finished eating Carson walked in with wet hair. I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his waist. He did the same to me and we stood there like that for awhile until someone cleared their throat from behind. "I don't want to break up the moment but I believe I came here for something," a man said. Carson shoved me behind him and said," Why are you here Harley?" Harley laughed and answered," For her of course." Carson's face hardened as he spat," You aren't getting her!" I felt two peoples presence behind me and when I turned around saw Shane and Ethan. Suddenly though there was more men near Harley. "She is endangered, let us take care of her," one of the men said. "Never!" Carson exclaimed. I was starting to get freaked out until I saw Carson crumbling onto the floor in pain. That did it for me, I focused on the men across the kitchen in pure hatred. All of them fell to the ground in pain and I was shocked. I was just imagining them in pain and it happened. I have powers? One man recovered and came toward me but I looked at a book on top of the cabinet and mentally threw it at him. It flew through the air and hit him in the back of the head. They all left and I relaxed my body. "Who were they and since when can I do stuff like that?!?" I asked pacing the room. "That was Harleys gang, they're werewolves, and you have always been able to do that," Carson explained. I was so confused but all I did was nod. Walking over to Carson I asked if he was okay. He said he was and then we went into the living room. I sat down and massaged my aching temples. "Your head will hurt for a bit since this is the first time you used your abilities," Ethan explained watching me. I rolled my eyes and curled up next to Carson. Shane got up and in a flash he was back on the couch across from us holding some aspirin and a cup of water. I gladly took it and sat back down. "Want to watch a movie?" Shane asked. I shrugged and let him put in a movie. It was about halfway through the movie when I felt the slightest pressure against my temples. "Are you guys trying to use your powers on me again?" I asked confused. They shook their heads and I suddenly felt the pressure get harder. Someone was trying to get in my head and not succeeding. All I know is, its probably not good.
