Emma-
"We need to talk." He said.
I nodded, fixing my hair as I looked down.
"I guess we do need to talk." I sighed, sitting on the edge of the desk as I looked away from my brother. "Although I don't really want to." I sighed.
"You talked to Denis."
I nodded.
"That's a lot easier."
"It should be the same thing." James stared.
"Well it isn't. He didn't call me a slut, and you...well you did."
"I'm sorry." He sighed.
"Wow. You spend two months not even trying to reach out to me and you are suddenly 'sorry'" I raised my eyebrow.
"I found you didn't I? I thought it would be easier to explain in person."
"Then explain."
"Em." He sighed. "You slept with Danny. Then you end up with Denis. I don't want you becoming a groupie."
"Danny knew how to get girls into bed. I thought he loved me....and Denis." I sighed. "I think Denis loves me. And I think I love him."
"You really feel strongly about him." James sighed.
I nodded.
"Then why didn't you just tell me?"
"I wanted to James, I just....I just didn't want this to happen." I sighed.
"Look how that turned out."
I scoffed. "If you're here to chastise me I do not want to hear it."
"I didn't come to do that. I just want to make things right again."
"And then what?" I paused. "Things will go back to normal? Guess what James there is no normal for me. I left home. I left college. I started this gallery on my own. I don't need you anymore."
"But I need you." He sighed, looking at me, sadness in his eyes. "You are my little sister and I love you. I may have gotten overprotective and I am so sorry for that, but you have to understand that what happened with Danny hurt me just as much as it hurt you."
"Is that why you were such a twat to Denis too?" I raised my eyebrow.
"Denis and I are fine now. Like I said." He sighed.
"Great things are fine with him and me too. He actually cared for my feelings."
"So do I Emma. I care so much about you that I was pissed at myself for weeks when you left. I barely ate because I was so worried that what I had done hurt you, I'm a failure of a brother."
"James you aren't a failure."
"Whenever you come near me and my friends you get hurt."
"I'm not hurt now though. I got my art career started because of you. My gallery was able to be opened because of a picture I drew of your band James. You started my career, you didn't hurt me." I sighed. "And you gave me Denis. James I care so much about him."
"And he cares so much about you, he was torn apart when you left."
"I thought it would be easy without me there. By just leaving without trying to make you madder by fighting back."
"No. You made us stronger, but we miss you."
"I can't just drop everything to go live life on the road with you."
"We have a month off and are staying here. Please consider it. You know how to reach me."
And with that he was gone.
I sighed grabbing my head in my hands. This was not how I thought the opening would go.
I walked down the stairs and quickly told my manager I was sorry and needed to get some air because of the stress. She nodded and I slipped out the door.
I walked along the street when I heard a familiar voice next to me. I looked up to see Denis.
"Get in the car."
"What are you doing here?" I laughed.
"I'm here to take you out for drinks. Celebrate my princess's gallery opening."
I rolled my eyes.
"I didn't miss that nickname and I'm not a drinker."
"Just get in the car and I'll take you home."
I sighed as I got in. I couldn't say no and my manager had driven me anyway.
"Thanks."
"A beautiful girl shouldn't be walking alone on the streets at night."
"You flatter me Stoff." I rolled my eyes.
"That's my job." He winked.
"So how have you been?" I asked
"Good, tour is good, lonely without you."
"You have the lads."
"I can't have hot makeout sessions in the closet with the lads." He chuckled.
"You could, that's why they call it coming out of the closet." I laughed.
"Fuck off." He laughed.
"Thanks for the ride."
"You're my girl. Of course I'm giving you a ride. Of both kinds if you want that." He winked.
"I forgot how disgusting you are." I rolled my eyes.
"You like my innuendos." He laughed.
"I tolerate them." I paused. "I'm still your girl."
"Well that depends. Do you still want to be my girl." He asked as he parked in my driveway.
I nodded. "Do you still want to be mine after all that I did." I bit my lip.
"I love you. Of course I want to be yours."
Our lips crashed together hungrily, making up for all the lost time, his hands roamed my body and he pulled me to him in the driver's seat.
"Do you wanna...." I breathed hungrily.
He nodded, kissing my lips, grabbing my hand as we scurried inside and to my bed.
We were together fully that night.
And I had never been more sure that I loved someone.
