The rain pattered down on the dirty window pane of the bus. It was a gloomy day. Days like these made Athena feel like death. She wasn't one for sunny days but she didn't like rain either. It reminded her too much of her past. Too much of her mother.

Athena was wrapped up warm in a burgundy sweater, skinny jeans and a long trench coat. Her brown hair fell like a curtain around her heart shaped face. The cold made her lips look swollen.

As Imagine Dragons played through her headphones, she watched the people outside. People who she liked to observe. People who did not know about her past and would not judge her if she was to meet them.

There had been a time when Athena just wanted to lock herself in her room and not come out for days. More importantly, to avoid her mother.

"This seat free?" Athena immediately took out her earphones and glanced at the boy who stood near her. He spoke in an almost demanding tone. He was tall, and his face was well-defined. There wasn't a single blemish on his clear skin. Afterall, she was an observer, that was her talent.

She simply nodded, plugging her earphones back in. He sat down next to her.

After a while, the boy shuffled next to her, and she looked at him from the corner of her eye. He pulled out something from his pocket. A brand new iPhone. The latest one. She glanced at his wrist and noticed a g-shock black watch. She had been shopping once and seen one of those models for over £1000. This guy must be rich. Probably a brat who used his parents' money for his own needs.

People like him disgusted Athena.

"Next stop Richmond Road."

This was her cue to leave. Athena muttered 'excuse me' and squeezed past the brat, making her way to the double doors. He was clearly still busy on his phone.

As she stepped off the bus, the doors immediately closed behind her and continued its journey.

But not before Athena glanced back at the rich boy on the bus, and was surprised to find him staring right into her soul.
