Colleen POV:
It was 7 a.m. on Christmas Eve. I had just woken up and couldn't fall back to sleep because I was so anxious. Josh didn't know it yet, but he was going to get the biggest early Christmas surprise ever.
I turned over to see Josh remained asleep. He looked like such an angel. I continued to lie in bed, anticipating the time when he'd wake up and I'd be able to deliver the surprise I've been waiting to give him for the past two days.
Josh's POV:
I slowly opened my eyes to see Colleen curled up next to me. "Merry Christmas Eve Fraggle," I whispered in to her ear.
She was looking at me lovingly with her big brown eyes, smiling from ear to ear. Christmas was her favorite holiday, so it was no surprise to see her in such a cheerful mood.
"Merry Christmas Eve Snoopy," she said.
"Are you ready to get this day started?!" I asked.
" Of course! It's Christmas Eve! " she said and lept out of bed.
Colleen POV:
I was so happy that Josh had woken up! I could not contain my excitement about giving him the biggest surprise ever. After making coffee and setting out a plate of some of my homemade chocolate chip cookies, we sat down on the couch.
Josh's POV:
Colleen seemed eager to get up this morning. I know that it's almost Christmas, but this morning, she acted with a different sort of excitement... giving off nervous energy vibes. I joined her on the couch and put my arm around her.
Colleen POV:
Josh sits down with me and looks at me adoringly through his green eyes. I figure that now is a good time to tell him. "Josh, baby, I sort of have an early Christmas surprise for you," I said.
"Okay, what is it?"
"So you know how we've been trying for a baby?"
"Yes," he replied, his eyes already starting to water
"Well I took a test a few days ago, went to the doctor, and found out that I'm pregnant. Josh we're gonna be parents!"
He hugged me and started crying. Seeing him so emotional made me cry too.
"I love you so much," he whispered and gently kissed me.
"I love you too. I am so excited to add to our family."
"We'll have a little Noah or Lilly soon," he said since those were our child names we had picked out years before.
"I can't wait," I said smiling.
