Joshua POV:
It was later that night and Colleen and I had it all planned out. We'd announce it to the family after dinner time where we were all scheduled to sit by the fire pit and talk in to the night.
The hours seemed to pass by quickly and I started to get anxious. I wasn't completely sure if this was the right time to tell them, but I knew that holding back wouldn't be such a great idea either. I was jolted out of my thoughts when I heard the doorbell ring.Colleen POV:
I had been busy making my famous cookies in the kitchen when the doorbell had rung.
"I'll get it!" I yelled to the backyard where the rest of my family was gathered.
I ran and opened the door to see Rachel's friends who were supposed to come tomorrow for the surprise proposal.
"Hi!" I said "You're early!"
" What do you mean?" Said Rachel, one of Rachel's closest friends from back when they were in school.
"The proposal is tomorrow" I whispered
"WHAT?! Matt told us it was today!" Kelsey, another one of Rachel's friends said.
"Alright wait one minute" I said. I quickly shut the door and ran to find Matt.
"Hey, Rachel's friends are here!" I said kind of panicked.
"What? The proposal isn't until tomorrow!"
"There must have been a miscommunication. What do we do?"
"We have to tell them it's not today but let them in to surprise Rachel early. We'll have to make a slight adjustment to the proposal plan but we can make it work" said Matt.
"Alright," I said.
