There is only one road to take. You can not move backwards and you can not go forward. You are force to stay in that spot forever. It's not up to you. You have no say in what happens. If something is coming that's on your path that can seriously hurt you, you have no choice but to wait on it. You can't move though you believe you can and you believe you want to stay there, but in reality you have no choice.
That's the world I will be living in. My name is Ender. I live behind the walls of Algaryon.
And someone took our magic away.I'm leaving tonight.
I'm going to defy my mother, my village and everyone just to see that woman. I want to meet her tonight. My body is burning to.
I stood in the kitchen helping my mother pluck corn off of a cob. I was too deep in thought to listen to her as she was telling me something. Was she even aware that I was able to use magic? Well, I've never tried it, but last night when I was glowing I couldn't help but feel it.
"Ender? Ender are you even listening to me?" I quickly turned around to face my mother. "U-um, I'm sorry. I was thinking." She sighed. As she put some of the corn she plucked into a separate bowl she said, "Tomorrow is Bun's birthday. I was asking if you could keep her busy tomorrow so we can prepare." I nodded and she smiled.
After I finished, I went upstairs back into my room. I was grounded from leaving the house so, I spent most of my time in my room alone. There isn't much to do in my room, but I need this time to myself. Sitting on the floor, I leaned against my bed and thought to myself.
Am I really going through with this? What if she's just a thief or murder? Or even an assassin? But for some strange reason I am feeling as if I can and should trust her."Little brother!" Red came bursting into my room. "Call me by my name!" I shouted at him. "What is it?! Why do you have to burst into my room so suddenly and unannounced?!" He folded his arms. "Why are you here and mother's in the kitchen alone? Your so lazy! Just because your grounded doesn't mean tha-"
"Shut up!" I yelled at him with hostility in my voice. I'm already frustrated then he just has to come in here and cause a fight with me. By his facal expression, I could see he was shocked from how wide his eyes were and how quiet he became. I suddenly felt bad. "I apologize.." I muttered. He stared at me for a moment before turning around and walking off. I didn't mean to yell like that. I'm just stressed. Redmon is surprisingly sensitive. I would of never expected for him to actually look at me that way and leave quietly. I exhaled deeply. What am I doing..?When I passed Red in the house, he didn't say a word to me. Although were twin brothers, we have never been truely mad at each other before, nor have we yelled at one another with such aggressiveness that I've shown him recently. I can see why he is acting this way.. I would too.
"Ender.." I felt someone light jump onto my back. "What's wrong with Red?" Sighing, I looked at her with a soft smile and eyes full of regret. "We... had a small disagreement earlier. Don't worry things will turn out well again." I reached back and touched her head. At that moment, I felt a bit weird and I believed she did so as well for her expression turn from one of concern to one of shock. I removed my hand from her. That feeling. I felt all the magic forcefully supressed inside of her. It felt as if I could take it out of her if I wanted to.
She removed herself from my back. "Wha- wha..?" Bun Bun started. "I don't know.." It felt like I did. She shrugged it off and walked off to mother. It was amazing how easy it was for her to forget about things and not be so suspicious of things. Bun Bun was the complete opposite of Red. My stomach growled. My current thoughts turned to ash almost immediately as it happened and images of mother's food came to mind. "Maybe I'll just ask for a bit of cabbage stew with carrots and deer meat."
I had to wait until dinner to eat it, but it was worth it. After we ate we were all sent to bed and I took the opportunity to sneak out. I walked into the forest to make sure I wouldn't be spotted climbing over the wall. After making my way over, I headed for the area I remember watching the blue light come from. The closer I got, the more my body trembled. Pain shot all throughout me. I sighed deeply making my way to the Tesseract Realm. "Master!" I turned around to see the only person I knew with wings. "Spindle?" She giggled and landed right beside me. "Master Ender! I told you I'd follow you! Oun!" I stopped deciding to talk a break, but no matter what I do I still feel heavy and in pain. "You don't look so good Master?" She touched my shoulders looking concerned. "I... I'm trying to get to the Tesseract Realm.. but the closer I get, the worse I feel.." Spindle looked surprised for a moment, but then began laughing. I frowned at her. "Oh, oh. It's all because your not use to being this exposed to your own power. You haven't walked this far away from your wall before. Once your there, you'll be in so much pain you won't even be able to stand, oun.." Before I could say anything, I was lifted into the air. "So I'll fly you there! It's surrounded by water and sharp rocks anyway. It won't be long."
Spindle was right. It wasn't long before we made it to the heart of the Tesseract Realm, exactly a few feet from where the light usually appeares to shoot into the sky. It was like a magically volcano I was on top of, but I couldn't admire it as much as I wanted to. I was in a great deal of pain. So much pain that I wanted to scream. I laid on the ground shaking furiously. I could see something like faint blue fire envelope my body. Spindle sat on her knees beside me trying to help as much as she could, but her attempts were in vain.
"Ender, you made it. And you found your servant." I turned my head to see who was taking. It was the woman I first met after climbing over the wall. The one I was suppose to meet. "I can see you in unimaginable pain." She wore a pout upon her face as she stared down at me. "So let me talk. Don't speak. Only listen." She said softly. Like I really could talk at the moment..
"I.. We need you. Your our last hope of survive. To the magical world and to the mortal world. There is something. Keeping the two worlds from meeting. This isn't suppose to be. There's an unbalance which only you can fix." I was getting confused with her words as I tried to pay as much attention to her as possible. "In a moment a beam will shoot up from here and into the sky. At that moment, you need to be in the middle of it. The beam that shoots into the sky is none other than pure magic. Your magic. It calls for you." With that, I felt my body leave the ground. I looked down seeing I was levitating off of it and the woman's hand extended towards me. "Now, it is your time. Please for give me." She tossed me away and down the hole of the mountain.
Fear hit me. Fear of dying. Forget what this woman had said. She's trying to kill me. I'm going to die once I hit the bottom. I haven't made amends with my brother yet. I haven't said what I wanted for my mother nor bun bun to hear yet. What have I been doing?
What have I been doing this whole time?
Just at that moment, I saw blue. Everything was blue. I was blue. I felt energized. I felt reborn. I felt complete.
I felt alive.
