- Carl's pov -

I walked beside my father as
he slowed to a stop. The Georgia sun
was beating down on us as
sweat dropped down our faces. My
   bones ached at every movement
I made, and hunger began to claw at
my stomach. I looked up into his
blue orbs, the ones so much like mine.
I was so proud of him. He was so
strong, and I wanted to learn how to
    have so much responsibility yet
still be so kind and wise. My father
was many things. But one thing
I found he was more often then not
       was confusing. But in my
confusion I realized that it always made
sense over time. and this time
was no different. For his confusion
        proved to be pure wisdom
once again.

The dead clawed through the forest,
      trying to sink their rotting
teeth into the dry flesh of my father and
      I. "Carl, I need you to run! You
Need to run fast and far!" I began to
shake. "What about you? I can't!"
"Just follow the moon Carl! Follow the moon and you will find me!"
I stood frozen for a few seconds before
        running into the woods, alone.
My fathers words to me haunted me as
I ran deeper into the forest.
"Just follow the moon Carl! Follow the moon and you will find me!"

Two days. It has been two days. Two
         days of me aimlessly walking
around the depths of the Georgia
forest. I began to come to a
clearing, and a small cabin appeared.
          seeming to be empty,
I entered the abandoned cabin,
           cringing when the frame
of the wooden door began to creek.
As I crept down the hall,
knife ready, my eyes meet the green
ones of another. I drew my
knife and pressed it against the neck of
             the stranger. She was a
girl, looking about my age. She had
             dirty blonde hair and
the most emerald eyes I had ever seen.
             They bore right into
mine, searching them carefully. She
             finally spoke. "So are
you going to kill me?" She asked.
I slowly lowered my knife before turning into the hallway. "My name
is Luna, by the way. Thanks for
asking." I paused, slightly phased.
"Like the moon?" I turned to meet
her eyes. "Yea....exactly like the moon."
"Follow the moon Carl."
