-Luna's pov-

I walked throughout the old cabin,
        slightly phased by the
emptiness of it. My bones ached and I
         hadn't eaten in days. I
couldn't quite grasp the fact that I had
         lost my mother, although
that had happened long ago. My
         mothers name was Dawn.
although I despised her for the person
         she had become, she was
still my mother and I had loved her.
          We were staying in a
hospital that she worked at, and
           eventually we made it
a home. But eventually the system was
        compromised and it became
hell for anyone living their. So I left.
I left the world I had known
and came out into the world of the
dead. I guess I became so lost
in these thoughts that I didn't realize
           their was another being
in the house. A human being. A boy,
            looking about my age
was looking at me from the kitchen. I
met his blue eyes as he
froze, and then drew his knife. I wanted
            to run, to hide, but
something about this boy was cunning.
            He was fairly attractive,
but the apocalypse was no time for
            crushes that would only
end in awkward conversation and the
            occasional pickup line.
I then realized I was pressed against
            the wall, the boys blade
pressing into my neck. I held my breath
because if I were to breath
the blade would cut through my skin.
              I struggled to speak,
saying the only words I could manage.
"Are you going to kill me?"
He reluctantly put his knife away. This
             boy was damaged. Broken.
I called to him as he walked down the
             hall. "My name is Luna,
by the way, thanks for asking." He
             slowly turned to face me,
studied my face carefully with his blue
              irises, my green ones
studying his as well. He spoke. "Like
               the moon?" I smiled,
remembering the reason I was named.
           "Yea...exactly like the moon."
